We come before the Lord with you in this time of need, lifting up your burdens to the One who is able to provide, sustain, and bring peace beyond all understanding. The weight of debt and the strain of financial hardship can feel overwhelming, but we serve a God who owns the cattle on a thousand hills and calls us to cast all our cares upon Him, for He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7). Let us first give thanks that you have acknowledged your need for God’s intervention, for He delights in the prayers of His children who seek Him with humble hearts.
The Bible reminds us in Philippians 4:19, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* This is not a promise of earthly wealth, but a promise that God will provide what is necessary for His children to walk in faith and obedience. Debt can be a heavy yoke, but we must also examine how it came to be—whether through unforeseen circumstances, poor stewardship, or other means—and seek wisdom moving forward. Proverbs 22:7 tells us, *"The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender."* While we pray for your debts to be recovered, we also encourage you to seek godly counsel on managing finances wisely, budgeting faithfully, and avoiding the snares of debt in the future. If there has been any recklessness or lack of trust in God’s provision, we urge you to repent and ask the Lord for wisdom (James 1:5).
We also lift up your husband’s need for employment. The Bible is clear that men are called to provide for their families (1 Timothy 5:8), and we know this is a weight he carries as well. Let us pray that the Lord opens doors no man can shut (Revelation 3:8), that your husband would find favor in the sight of employers, and that the work he finds would be honorable and sufficient. May he also lean on the Lord during this season, trusting that his worth is not found in his employment but in Christ alone. Encourage him, as the Proverbs 31 woman does for her household, and remind him that the Lord is his strength.
Finally, we pray for peace in your family. Financial stress can strain even the strongest of relationships, but the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, can guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We urge you to cling to one another in prayer, to speak words of life and encouragement, and to avoid the temptation to blame or grow bitter. Colossians 3:13-14 says, *"bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do. Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection."* Let love and unity be the foundation of your home, and trust that the Lord is working even in this trial for your good and His glory (Romans 8:28).
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our sister, who is burdened by debt, longing for provision, and seeking peace in her home. Lord, You know her needs before she even asks, and You are faithful to provide. We ask that You would supernaturally intervene in her financial situation—open doors for repayment, provide unexpected resources, and grant her wisdom to steward what You give her. Father, we rebuked any spirit of fear, anxiety, or despair in the name of Jesus, and we declare that You are her Provider, her Jehovah Jireh.
Lord, we lift up her husband to You. Give him favor in the eyes of employers, lead him to the right opportunities, and strengthen him in this season of waiting. May he find his identity in You alone and trust that You are working even when he cannot see the way forward. Bind their marriage together in unity, and let them be a testimony of faith and perseverance to those around them.
We pray for peace to reign in their home—peace that only comes from You. Heal any division, calm any anxiety, and fill their hearts with gratitude and trust. Let their family be a reflection of Your love and faithfulness.
Father, we also ask that You would reveal to them any areas where they have not fully surrendered to You. If there has been any reliance on worldly solutions rather than seeking Your kingdom first (Matthew 6:33), convict them and lead them to repentance. May they walk in obedience, trusting that You will never leave them nor forsake them (Deuteronomy 31:6).
We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your goodness and Your perfect timing. May Your will be done in their lives, and may they bring glory to Your name through their faith and obedience. In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we want to encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in all things. Keep praying, keep trusting, and keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). If there are specific debts or needs you feel led to share, we would be happy to pray over them more specifically. May the Lord bless you and keep you as you walk in faith.
