Multitudinous Thoughts and Sacred Comforts
Lions Lacking — But the Children Satisfied
The Battle for Bread
We join you in thanking God for this day and for the gift of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit in your life and in the lives of your sons and daughters and your family. We rejoice with you that you have been baptized and that you feel the goodness of God after that step of obedience. The Word says Repent, and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit Acts 2:38. We pray you will continue to walk in that newness of life, not by feeling alone but by faith in Christ.

We also join you in praying for the peace of Jerusalem as you asked, for we are told to Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Those who love you will prosper Psalm 122:6, and we ask God to bring His peace there according to His will.

We hear your heart crying out for your mind to be cleansed and restored. You have asked God to remove from your mind all things that are not of the Lord Jesus and to take away the images of the games you play on your phone that linger when you close your eyes. We pray with you for this renewal, for God calls us to be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God Romans 12:2. We ask God to help you bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ 2 Corinthians 10:5 and to fix your thoughts on whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report Philippians 4:8. If these games are filling your mind and distracting you from the Lord and from what is pure, we encourage you to set boundaries on that time and to replace it with prayer, Scripture, and fellowship, so your mind may be restored.

You have asked God to restore you together again with the one you love, saying you do not desire anyone else sexually and have not let anyone get as close to you as him, and that you miss him and long for him to call you. We pray with you for God’s will to be done in this relationship. We want to gently and lovingly speak truth here, because God’s design for sexual intimacy and deep closeness is within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. The Scripture says Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers Hebrews 13:4 and Flee sexual immorality 1 Corinthians 6:18. If there has been sexual intimacy outside of marriage, we urge you to repent and to seek purity before the Lord. If you desire to be together, we pray that your courtship would be with the goal of a godly marriage to a fellow believer in Christ, if it is God’s will, and that you would pursue holiness together. We pray not simply for a phone call, but for God’s perfect will, whether that be restoration to a marriage that honors Him or grace to move forward in peace if that is not His plan. We trust the Lord to guide you and to guard your heart as you trust in Him with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding Proverbs 3:5.

You also asked God to break a curse and spell and hex that you feel was put on you to break you apart. We want to encourage you that for those who are in Christ, no curse can ultimately stand against God’s purpose. The Scripture says Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel Numbers 23:23 and If God is for us, who can be against us Romans 8:31 and No weapon that is formed against you will prevail Isaiah 54:17. We rebuke fear of curses and hexes, and we encourage you not to give power to such things, but to rest in the authority of Jesus Christ and to walk in His protection through prayer, the Word, and obedience. We pray that any fear or spiritual oppression would be broken in Jesus’ name and that you would know the peace and freedom Christ gives.

We also lift up your workplace concern where you feel you are being paid less than others despite years of faithful work and you desire equal pay. We pray God will provide for you and act justly on your behalf, for our God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19. We encourage you to make your request to your employer respectfully and honestly, trusting God to be your advocate, and to continue to work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men Colossians 3:23, while also seeking wisdom about whether this job is where God wants you to remain.

You shared a dream where you saw Jesus arguing over you and showing you to another. We do not lean on dreams for direction, but we test all things by the Word of God, knowing that God has shown His love for you most clearly at the cross, and that He contends for His children.

We thank you for praying in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father, and there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6.

We pray together now, Father, we thank You for this dear one, for their family, for their baptism and their hunger for You. We ask You to renew their mind and wash away every image and thought that is not of You, and to fill them with Your peace and pure thoughts. We ask You to guard their heart in this relationship, to forgive any sexual sin and to lead them into purity, and if it is Your will, to restore this relationship into a holy marriage that honors You, or to give grace and closure if not. We break all fear of curses and spells in the name of Jesus and declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and we ask for Your protection and wisdom over all who make up their household, that they would be safe and hidden in You. Provide for their financial needs, move on the heart of their employer toward fairness, and let Your justice and provision be seen. Draw them ever closer to Jesus, keep them hidden in Your wisdom, and let their life be a testimony of Your grace. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

We are grateful you took time to share what is on your heart, and we thank God with you for your baptism. It is a joy to hear you mark that step and want to walk close with Him.

We hear how much you are carrying right now, missing someone you felt close to, feeling lonely, having unwanted images from games stay in your mind when you try to rest, and also feeling unfairly treated at work after giving so much for years. It makes sense that your mind would feel crowded and tired with all of that at once.

One gentle next step that often helps when thoughts feel stuck is to create a little more space for your mind to rest. You might try setting a clear stopping time for phone games in the evening, and then spending that time in quiet prayer, a short walk, or talking with someone you trust in your church or prayer group. For the situation at work, it can help to write down the responsibilities you carry and have a calm, respectful conversation with your employer about pay, perhaps with a pastor or wise friend praying with you beforehand for clarity and steadiness.

We will pray for you and your family, and for the peace of Jerusalem as you asked.

Father, thank You for this dear child of Yours and for the new life You have given in baptism. Bring quiet to restless thoughts, comfort in loneliness, and wisdom for each decision at work and at home. Keep them safe and surrounded by Your care, and draw them closer to You day by day. In Jesus' name, Amen.

We join you in giving thanks to God for this day and for His mercies to you and to your children and family, and we rejoice to hear that you have been baptized. That solemn and joyful profession is a sign of death and resurrection with Christ, and we pray you may now walk in newness of life, declaring the works of the Lord who has brought you forth.

We hear your burden concerning your mind, the intrusive thoughts and the images from games that linger when you close your eyes. All created things need renewal, and the mind and heart are no exception. There is a stern work called renewal in Scripture, even conversion, which requires the same power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead. It is of small use to look to man for deliverance in such spiritual distress, for only God can deliver. We pray that He will renew your consecration to Christ, that fancy may not rule the mind nor love of ease control the body, but that you may grow again to love the Word of God and find it fresh. Bring those thoughts captive to Christ, turn from empty phrases and idle images, and ask the Lord to fill your mind with what is pure and holy and of Himself.

You ask concerning curses and spells and hexes that you fear have parted you from another. Hear the sure word of God, that the curse causeless shall not come, and that Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us. This is substitution. He bore our sins and the curse that came of them upon Calvary, that we might be bought out from under the curse with a price. No spell of man can stand against that ransom, for God Himself has found a ransom and has said, I have found a ransom. If you are in Christ, you need not fear the curse of man, but you must fear to remain under the curse of the law by sin. We pray you may know with full assurance that deliverance from the pit comes only through that substitutionary sacrifice, the most astonishing provision under heaven, the old story of the cross.

Concerning the one whom you miss and desire to be restored to you, we must speak plainly and in love. You speak of a closeness that is sexual and of a desire to be together again. The Scripture teaches that salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and that marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that the gift of sexual union and of living together belongs within that covenant alone. We cannot ask God to bless or to restore a union upon terms that are outside His holy design, for that would be to ask Him to set aside His own goodness. True restoration is first to Christ. As Peter fell and was restored, not by mere feeling but by a broken heart that remembered the Lord and wept, so the Lord restores penitent sinners by blotting out sin and renewing the nature. We pray not that your will with this man be done, but that both of you may be brought to repentance and faith, to purity and holiness, and that if it be the Lord's will for you to walk together, it would be in the way He has ordained, with a clear conscience before Him. We pray the Lord will guard your heart from seeking comfort in that which cannot satisfy, and that He will give you peace whether that man calls or not, for our peace must be within the borders that God sets.

We also bring before the Lord your labor and your wages, and the sense that you have not been dealt with justly after years of faithful work. God sees and He is just, and we pray He will provide for you and for all who depend upon you, and give you wisdom to act with integrity and to seek what is right in His sight, and that He will move the heart of your employer to do what is fair. Your dream reminds us that the Lord knows our thoughts and our strivings. We pray you may leave vengeance and contention to Him who judges righteously, and that you may be kept safe and protected, full of His wisdom to know what to do and how to walk wisely.

We join you in prayer for the peace of Jerusalem, and for all your people and for those in your prayer group. May the Lord keep you hidden in Christ, make your deliverance effectual, and bring you forth with singing. We pray that you may be able to say with faith, I shall not die but live and declare the works of the Lord, and that your life may show forth that you have been delivered from worse enemies than any earthly foe, and saved by a greater salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ.

We commend you to Him who alone can save and keep and perfectly restore, praying that He will blot out sin, renew your mind, redeem you from every curse, and establish your steps in His way, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
