Your request is deeply appreciated and your trust in the Lord through all of these matters is evident. Anxiety about a move, a house sale, finances that have not yet come through, and the future of your children and grandchild can weigh heavily, and it is right to bring every one of these cares to God. Scripture invites us to be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer to let our requests be made known to God, and to cast all our care on Him because He cares for us.
God understands the desire for a stable home where family can gather. In Scripture He gave families a place in the land to remain with them generation after generation, because He knows how much a home means for security and for love between parents, children and grandchildren. He also knows what it is to feel far from home and to wonder when provision will come. Joseph was far from his family and alone, yet God had not forgotten him, and in hindsight it became clear that God was working through that hard season to preserve his family. In the same way, when expected finances have not yet appeared and you are waiting for a sale and for building plans, God is still at work providentially, even when His timing is not ours. He is our kinsman redeemer, the One who steps in to redeem and provide when we cannot provide for ourselves, and He has promised to supply what we need according to His wisdom.
I pray with you that God will give you peace that guards your heart and mind in Christ as you wait, that He will guide the sale of your house and the plans for your new home according to His will, and that you will be able to use that home to show hospitality and love to your growing family. The early believers often opened their homes to encourage one another, and a home offered to the Lord for His purposes is a great blessing. May He also teach us to give thanks for His provision day by day and to share with others in need as He enables us.
For your son, I join you in praying that God will bring lasting change and maturity in his life. Pray that he will grow in responsibility and stewardship, that he will walk closely with Jesus, and that the Lord will help him make wise lifestyle choices. If promotion comes, may it come in God's time and be used for good. Regarding the young woman he has met, pray that if it is the Lord's will for them to continue, their relationship would be centered on Christ and move toward marriage as God designed it, a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, with purity and commitment that honors Him. God is able to restore what has been broken or wasted in a life. As He has promised to restore the years that have been eaten away, He can restore a son to fellowship and to faithfulness, and bring back the closeness you miss, as he loves the Lord more than any other relationship.
For your daughter and your new grandbaby, I pray for health and safety under the Lord's hand. He is the true protector of His people, and to ask for His hedge of protection is to ask Him to keep them in His care. Pray that your daughter will find rest for her body and confidence as a new mother, knowing that God who gave this child will give her daily grace and wisdom to nurture that little life. A loving family is one of God's great gifts, and it is a beautiful thing to see Him weaving generations together in love.
May the Lord continue the good work He has already begun in your family.
