We join you in prayer over these many burdens you have carried and we thank you for praying in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. As it is written, Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. We rejoice that you have called upon that name and that you have seen God working in your lives.
We hear your anxiety about the move, the building of the new house, the sale of your current home, and the finances that have not yet come as you expected. We understand the desire for everything to work out perfectly and quickly, especially this week, but we encourage you to cast your cares on Him and trust His timing and His perfect provision rather than our own expectations. The scripture says, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 and Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time, casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:6-7. We also remember, But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33 and My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19. A house built to host your growing family is a beautiful and godly desire, to show hospitality and keep family close, but we pray not merely for a high price or for finances as you have expected, but for God’s will to be done, for contentment and wisdom in stewardship, and for peace as you wait. A man’s heart plans his course, but Yahweh directs his steps. Proverbs 16:9.
We lift up your son with you. We pray that God would bring about the drastic lifestyle changes you mention, that he would turn from any ways that do not honor God and walk in diligence, self control and purity. We pray for his financial stewardship and for the promotion he has been promised, that if it is God’s will he would receive it through honest work as unto the Lord. We also pray with you about this young lady he may have met. We believe marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman designed by God, and that courtship should be with the goal of finding a godly spouse who is a believer in Christ. We pray that if this relationship continues, it would be a courtship toward marriage that honors God, that both would remain pure and flee from fornication, for sex outside of marriage is sin before God. We pray as it is written, Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers. 2 Corinthians 6:14. So we pray this young lady would be a faithful Christian believer who will encourage him toward Christ and help restore the son you miss, not through mere companionship but through a shared faith that makes him more like Christ. We pray for miracles in his life, not only financial miracles but the miracle of a transformed heart.
We also join you in praying for your daughter and your new grandbaby. Children are a heritage of Yahweh. Psalm 127:3. We thank God for this new life and we ask for His hand of protection and health over both mother and child. We pray the hedge of protection you asked for around your entire family, remembering that He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1. We pray your daughter will find rest and confidence not in her own strength but in Christ, for Jesus said, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28. We pray God will strengthen her body, calm her heart, and surround her with support and wisdom as she learns to care for her baby.
We pray together now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. We lift up this dear family to You and thank You that You have already been at work in their lives. We ask for Your peace to guard this parent’s heart and to calm anxiety, replacing worry with trust in Your sovereign plan and timing. We ask for Your provision and direction regarding the house sale and the new home. Let Your will be done, provide what is needed to build and to host family for Your glory, and help them to be good stewards of all You entrust to them. We lift up their son, Lord, work deeply in his heart, bring conviction where needed, grant him discipline to make lifestyle changes that honor You, establish the work of his hands, and if it is Your will grant him the promotion. Guide his relationships, and if this young lady is from You, let it be a pure courtship between two believers moving toward a godly marriage that honors You, and if not, close the door. Restore him, Lord, and draw him close to You. We place a hedge of protection around this daughter and grandbaby and the whole family, grant health, safety, healing and rest, and give this new mother confidence, strength and joy in her calling. Continue Your good work in them, Lord, and let them see miracles that point to Your glory and goodness. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus. Amen.
We encourage you to continue to trust Him even when things do not happen on the timeline you expected. God is faithful and He hears you. As it says, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11. Keep seeking Him daily in prayer and in His Word, and rest in His peace.
