We join you in lifting up your son before the Lord and we thank God for the good young man He is shaping him to be. It is a blessing to see him in college and we understand how quickly the years have gone and how September will mark another birthday that reminds you of God's faithfulness through it all. We rejoice with you in his growth and we stand with you in prayer for his future.

We pray for God's provision over his work and that if it is according to His will, the extra shift would be granted. We know our Father cares about our daily needs and we trust Him to provide. My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 We also pray that your son will grow in wisdom to make good decisions in college, to walk in integrity and to keep communication open with you. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5 Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6 We pray the seeds you have planted in love and faithful care will continue to bear fruit as he learns to seek the Lord first in all his choices. Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

We also lift up the concern you shared about his father and his father's family. We understand the pain of feeling that influence is pulling him away, and we pray for peace and truth to prevail. We encourage you to release any bitterness and to pray for them with love, trusting God to guard your son's heart and mind. If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Romans 12:18 Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:31-32 We pray that your son will honor both his mother and his father as the Lord commands, and that all family influence would be filtered through God's truth. Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with a promise. Ephesians 6:1-2

We pray also for his stewardship and for wisdom to save his money and to use this season living at home well. The plans of the diligent surely lead to profit. Proverbs 21:5 We thank God for your faithful heart to do your best to take care of him, for that reflects the love God calls us to show in our families. But if anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith. 1 Timothy 5:8 May the Lord strengthen you and give you rest as you continue to pour into him.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently remind you that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and that we are saved. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 It is by placing our faith in Jesus, His death and resurrection for our sins, that we are reconciled to God and our prayers are heard. We encourage you to call upon His name daily for yourself and for your son.

So together we pray, Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up this dear son to You. Cover him with Your protection at work, at college, and wherever he goes. Grant him favor for the extra shift if it is Your will, and help him to be diligent and faithful in his work. Give him a heart that seeks wisdom, that flees temptation, that walks with the wise and grows in discernment. Keep his communication loving and open with his mother, and help him to honor You in his finances, to save wisely and to live responsibly while at home. Guard his mind from confusion or manipulation and surround him with godly influences. Bless this mother with peace, strength, and joy as she watches her son grow into manhood, and let her see the fruit of her faithful care. Draw both of them closer to Jesus and let Your will be done in their lives. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to keep praying without ceasing, to keep the lines of communication open with grace and truth, and to entrust your son fully to the Lord who loves him even more than you do. So teach us to count our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. Psalm 90:12

We can hear both the pride and the worry in your prayer for your son. Seeing him in college, almost another birthday in September, and wanting that extra shift to come through for him, it is a lot to hold at once. You love him deeply and you want to keep caring for him well while he learns to navigate adult life.

This season often brings a shift in how we love our kids. He is learning to take ownership of his own time, money, choices and future, and you are learning how to stay closely connected while giving him room to grow into that responsibility. When a young adult feels free to make his own decisions and still be loved and respected at home, communication usually stays more open.

A small step that often helps is keeping connection steady and low pressure. A brief check in a couple times a week, asking open questions about how work and classes are going and noticing the good decisions you already see in him, can keep the door open more than frequent reminders. When you talk about saving or living at home, framing it as a warm invitation and what you are able to offer, rather than an expectation, gives him space to weigh it clearly and come to you.

We are carrying you both in prayer.

Father, we bring this mother and her son before You. Provide for his work as You see best, give him wisdom and steadiness in his decisions, and keep their communication kind and open. Give her peace and strength as she loves him through this new season, and guide them both day by day. In Jesus' name, amen.

We lift your petition with you to the throne of grace and join you in prayer for your son.

How natural is the wonder of a parent's heart as you see him grown and now in college, and how fitting that you should desire for him that wisdom which alone can guide him through this trackless waste of life. Wisdom is man's true path and the compass by which he must steer, and the price of wisdom is above rubies. It is not found in the strength or craft of youth, but in trust in God and in Christ who is made unto us wisdom. We pray that the Lord will make your son wise with His wisdom, that he may walk in the way of wisdom and not in the byroads where protection is not promised.

We pray for his labour, that if it be the Lord's will He would provide the extra shift and give him diligence and favour in his work. We pray that he may make good decisions, that he may be kept in the appointed ways where angelic protection is promised, in the way of truth and childlike trust in providential guidance. We pray that the Lord will open his lips to wholesome communication with you, that honour may be given where it is due and love may speak freely between you.

We pray also concerning his father and family. We ask the Lord to guard his mind from all error and from every influence that would draw him from truth and holiness. As for the truths of God which God has taught him, may he grapple them to himself as with hooks of steel. May the Lord bow every heart concerned before God, empty us of our own conceits, and bring all to be wise with His wisdom and to live in His life. May there be peace where there has been strife, and may grace teach all to speak the truth in love.

We pray for his stewardship, that God would teach him to save his money and to use it wisely, and for his home, that his dwelling with you may be ordered in love and honour and prove a blessing to you both. May you be sustained as you do your best to care for him, remembering that He who counts the stars will not forget His people, and that they who wait upon the Lord shall be guided.

Above all we pray that your son may know the Lord Jesus Christ, for there is salvation in no other. Once in the history of the world has the Son of God appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. Trust in His blood and His finished righteousness, and you shall be saved. May your son so trust Him, and may you both find that to trust in God is true wisdom.

O Lord, look upon this young man. Give him industry in his calling, wisdom in his choices, a mouth to speak with honour and love, a heart to love truth and hate every false way, and a spirit to walk humbly before You. Keep him from evil, supply his needs, and make his home a place of peace. Reveal Your Son in him and be Yourself his ever present Friend. Let Your will be done in his life, for what You do is always best. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we ask it, trusting in His mercy. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
