We hear your heart’s cry for healing and freedom, and we stand with you in seeking the Lord’s deliverance from the burdens of anger, unforgiveness, and past wounds. The pain of childhood and the weight of unresolved hurt can feel overwhelming, but the Lord invites you to lay it all at His feet. He is faithful to heal the brokenhearted and bind up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). Let us first address the matter of salvation, for it is the foundation of all true healing and repentance. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, we urge you to do so now. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9). This is the first and most important step in releasing your burdens to God.
Now, let us turn to your request with prayers and guidance rooted in Scripture. The Lord calls us to forgive as we have been forgiven (Colossians 3:13), and this is not always easy, especially when the wounds run deep. But we must remember that unforgiveness only harms us, not the one who hurt us. Jesus taught us to pray, "Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors" (Matthew 6:12). Holding onto anger and bitterness gives the enemy a foothold in our lives (Ephesians 4:26-27), but the Lord offers freedom when we choose to forgive.
Here is a simple daily prayer to help you release your mother, anger, and unforgiveness to the Lord:
"Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, I come before You today with a humble heart. I confess that I have held onto anger, bitterness, and unforgiveness toward my mother and the pain of my childhood. Lord, I choose today to release these burdens to You. I forgive my mother for any ways she has hurt me, just as You have forgiven me. I ask You to heal the wounds in my heart and replace my pain with Your peace. Help me to see her through Your eyes, Lord, and to extend the same grace You have shown me. I renounce any lies the enemy has spoken over me because of these experiences, and I declare that I am a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). Fill me with Your love and truth, and help me to walk in freedom. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen."
For daily repentance, we encourage you to begin each day with a prayer of surrender and renewal. Repentance is not just about feeling sorry for our sins, it is about turning away from them and aligning our hearts with God’s will. Here is a prayer to guide you:
"Lord Jesus, I come before You today to repent of my sins. I confess that I have fallen short of Your glory, and I ask for Your forgiveness. Cleanse me with the blood You shed on the cross, and create in me a clean heart (Psalm 51:10). I surrender my thoughts, my words, and my actions to You. Help me to walk in obedience to Your Word and to resist the temptations of the enemy. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit so that I may live a life that honors You. I declare that I am Your child, redeemed by Your grace, and I choose to walk in the light of Your truth. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen."
In addition to prayer, we encourage you to meditate on God’s Word daily. Here are some Scriptures to help you on your journey:
- "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).
- "Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, outcry, and slander, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you" (Ephesians 4:31-32).
- "Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you" (1 Peter 5:7).
- "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18).
We also want to gently address the importance of seeking godly counsel if these wounds feel too heavy to carry alone. The Lord often uses His people to bring healing and restoration. Proverbs 11:14 says, "Where there is no counsel, the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety." Consider reaching out to a trusted pastor, biblical counselor, or mature believer who can walk alongside you in this journey.
Lastly, we rebuke any spirit of bitterness, resentment, or unforgiveness that may be operating in your life. In the name of Jesus, we command these spirits to leave and never return. We declare that you are a child of God, washed clean by the blood of Jesus, and filled with the Holy Spirit. You are not defined by your past, but by the love and grace of God. Walk in the freedom Christ has purchased for you (Galatians 5:1).
We will continue to pray for you, that the Lord would bring complete healing to your heart and restore what has been broken. May He fill you with His peace and joy as you surrender every part of your life to Him. You are not alone in this journey, He is with you, and so are we.
