We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation with both compassion and a firm commitment to biblical truth. First, we thank God for His faithfulness and for the recognition of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in this prayer. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We are grateful that this prayer acknowledges Jesus, for He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6).
We lift up the peace of Israel and America, praying that God’s hand of protection and wisdom would rest upon these nations. May they seek His face and turn from any path that leads away from His will (2 Chronicles 7:14).
Now, we must address the heart of this request with both love and truth. The longing for a deep, committed relationship is understandable, but we must examine whether this pursuit aligns with God’s design for marriage and relationships. Scripture is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, a lifelong commitment before God (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). Any relationship outside of this framework, whether through premarital intimacy, emotional or physical unfaithfulness, or unclear commitments, falls short of God’s best.
The confusion, pain, and uncertainty described here are signs that this relationship is not rooted in God’s order. The inconsistency of this man’s words and actions, saying he loves you yet going "MIA," blocking you, and leaving you in limbo, is not the behavior of a godly spouse or even a godly friend. Proverbs 24:26 tells us, "Whoever gives an honest answer kisses the lips," but deception and instability are not of God. We must rebuke the spirit of confusion and emotional turmoil in Jesus’ name, for God is not the author of confusion but of peace (1 Corinthians 14:33).
The desire for intimacy, spending the night together, and being "seen in public" outside of marriage is not aligned with Scripture. Hebrews 13:4 declares, "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers." Fornication, sexual intimacy outside of marriage, is a sin that grieves the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). We must repent of any plans or desires that do not honor God’s design for purity and commitment.
We also notice the possessiveness and control in phrases like "cloning with is the right choice for him" and the insistence on being the "better friend." This is not the language of love but of insecurity and manipulation. Love is patient, kind, and does not insist on its own way (1 Corinthians 13:4-5). True love seeks the other’s best, even if that means letting go. We must surrender this man and this relationship to God, trusting that His plans are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9).
The mention of staying in a motel raises concerns. If this is due to instability or homelessness, we pray for God’s provision and wisdom. But if this is tied to plans involving this man, we must warn against any arrangement that could lead to temptation or sin. Flee from sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18), and do not put yourself in situations where your faith could be compromised.
We also must address the spiritual condition of this man. If he is not a believer or is not living in obedience to Christ, Scripture warns us not to be unequally yoked (2 Corinthians 6:14). Even if he claims to know Jesus, his actions must align with his profession of faith. We pray for his salvation and repentance if he is not truly walking with the Lord.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach You. We lift up this dear sister, asking for Your mercy, healing, and clarity. Lord, You see the pain and longing in her heart, and we ask that You would comfort her with Your presence. Father, we repent on her behalf for any desires or plans that do not align with Your Word. Forgive us for seeking fulfillment in a man rather than in You alone. You are our ultimate satisfaction, our Bridegroom, and our Provider (Psalm 107:9).
We break every spirit of confusion, emotional torment, and ungodly soul ties in Jesus’ name. We declare that this sister is not bound by the instability or unfaithfulness of this man. Lord, we ask that You would reveal the truth of this situation to her. If this relationship is not of You, give her the strength to walk away and trust You with her future. If he is not the one You have for her, prepare her heart to release him and receive Your best.
Father, we pray for this man. If he is not saved, we ask that You would draw him to Yourself. If he is a believer, convict him of any sin and lead him to repentance. Soften his heart to seek You above all else. If he is not called to be her husband, close every door and redirect his path according to Your will.
Lord, we ask for Your provision and protection over this sister’s housing situation. Provide a stable, safe place for her to stay, and give her wisdom in her finances. Open doors for godly community, fellowship, and support. Surround her with believers who will speak truth and encouragement into her life.
Father, we pray that she would find her identity and worth in You alone. Help her to see herself as Your beloved daughter, complete in Christ (Colossians 2:10). Teach her to wait on You, trusting that Your timing is perfect. If marriage is Your plan for her, prepare a godly man who will love her as Christ loves the church (Ephesians 5:25). If singleness is Your plan, fill her with joy and purpose in serving You.
We declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We speak peace over her mind and heart, and we ask that You would fill her with Your Holy Spirit. May she seek You first in all things, and may her life bring glory to Your name.
In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to seek godly counsel from a pastor or mature Christian who can walk with you through this season. Spend time in God’s Word, allowing it to renew your mind and shape your desires. Psalm 37:4 says, "Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart." When your delight is in the Lord, your desires will align with His will.
Consider fasting from communication with this man to break any unhealthy dependencies. Use this time to draw closer to God and seek His face. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
You are not alone. The Lord sees your tears and hears your cries. He is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). Trust Him with your future, and He will lead you into His perfect plan.
