We lift this heavy burden to the Lord with broken hearts, knowing that He sees every tear and hears every cry. Your family is walking through a valley of deep darkness, and we stand with you in prayer, pleading for God’s mercy, protection, and intervention.
First, we rebuke the spirit of confusion, torment, and abuse that has taken hold in your brother’s life. The Bible tells us in 2 Timothy 1:7, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." What your brother is experiencing is not from God, and we command any unclean spirit speaking through him to be silenced in the name of Jesus Christ. The speaking in tongues you described does not align with the biblical gift of tongues, which is given for edification and must be interpreted (1 Corinthians 14:27-28). This appears to be a counterfeit manifestation, and we pray for discernment and spiritual protection over your family.
We also rebuke the control and manipulation your brother is exerting over your mother. Scripture is clear that love does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, and thinks no evil (1 Corinthians 13:5). What he is doing is sinful and harmful, and we pray for your mother’s deliverance from this oppression. Proverbs 31:8-9 says, "Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are left desolate. Open your mouth, judge righteously, and serve justice to the poor and needy." Your mother deserves safety, dignity, and the medical care she urgently needs. We pray that God would open a way for her to leave this toxic environment and find refuge with you or another safe place.
Lord, we ask for healing for your brother’s mind and soul. Mental illness is a heavy cross to bear, and we know that only You can bring true restoration. We pray for wisdom for doctors, counselors, and anyone who can help him receive the treatment he needs. Psalm 34:18 reminds us, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." We ask that Your presence would surround him, even in his darkest moments, and that he would turn to You for help.
We also lift you up, dear one, as you carry the weight of this situation. It is not wrong to feel overwhelmed or heartbroken—Jesus Himself wept over the pain of those He loved (John 11:35). But we pray that you would find strength in Him. Isaiah 41:10 says, "Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness." Lean on Him, and allow others in the body of Christ to support you as well.
Father, we ask that You would break every chain of bondage in this family. We pray for Your protection over your mother, that she would have the courage and opportunity to leave this harmful situation. We pray for your brother, that he would receive the help he needs and that his heart would be softened to receive Your love. And we pray for you, that You would give you peace, wisdom, and strength as you navigate this difficult season. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved and through whom we have access to You. Amen.
