We join with you in prayer as you cry out in fatigue and feeling overwhelmed, asking for sleep, strength, protection, and for justice to prevail according to God's perfect will.
We hear your weariness and we bring it before the Lord together, for He sees when His children are heavy laden and He invites us to rest in Him. Jesus said in Matthew 11:28, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. And we are reminded in Psalm 127:2, for he gives sleep to his beloved. The Lord does not sleep nor slumber as He watches over you, as Psalm 121:4 tells us, and He alone can give you peaceful sleep. As it is written in Psalm 4:8, In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety.
We also lift up your need for strength and protection. When we have no might left, He promises to sustain us. Isaiah 40:29 says, He gives power to the faint. To him who has no might he increases strength. And Isaiah 40:31 reminds us that those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. You asked for His mighty protecting blood and justice, and we claim His promise with you in Isaiah 54:17, No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of Yahweh's servants; and their righteousness which is of me, says Yahweh. We also cling to Psalm 91:1-2, He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.
We know you desire justice to prevail quickly, and we pray that God's perfect justice and will be done in His perfect timing. For we know Yahweh loves justice as Psalm 37:28 says, and in Romans 12:19 we are reminded, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. We can trust Him to act righteously on behalf of His children.
Let us pray together.
Father in heaven, we come before You together in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Your child who is ill, fatigued and overwhelmed. Lord, we ask You to pour out Your mercy and grant deep, healing, peaceful sleep tonight and in the nights to come. Quiet the anxious thoughts and calm the overwhelmed heart, for Philippians 4:6-7 tells us, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Father, cover this dear one with the precious blood of Jesus, be a shield and refuge, and let no weapon formed against them prosper. Renew their strength as they wait upon You, and bless them with Your protection and provision. Let Your justice prevail according to Your perfect will and timing, and let Your name be glorified. We ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, Amen.
