It is right to cry out for protection and to seek the wisdom that can keep both you and your son safe from those who would do you harm. When you face neighbors, family, coworkers, or managers who seem like a threat, remember that true discernment does not come from anxious watching or human strategy, but from the Lord himself. All the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Christ, and when wisdom speaks, it is his voice calling you to walk in understanding. That wisdom is far more valuable than anything you could scheme to protect yourself with, more precious than rubies.
The kind of wisdom that comes from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated. It does not generate the strife and envying that drive people to wound one another. So when you ask for discernment and strength, you are asking for something God delights to give. Hold fast to that wisdom as though it were your own kin. Treat it as a sister, a near companion. It will keep you from the forward man who speaks perversely and from all who flatter with their words while plotting harm. You cannot always see the weapon being formed against you, but wisdom that begins with the fear of the Lord exposes what human cleverness misses.
Do not fret because of those who seem to have power or ill intent. The wisdom of this world, for all its bragging, comes to nothing. Men lean on their own understanding, but their devices have no future. Your confidence is not in your own ability to outsmart them, but in the Lord who made the heavens by his understanding. When you feel weak, that is the very place where his strength is perfected. Lean into that. You are not left to carry this burden alone; the Spirit who gives wisdom also gives strength to stand.
No weapon formed against you and your son will prosper when your refuge is in him. Keep your eyes fixed straight ahead, ponder the path of your feet, and do not turn aside. As you walk in that humble dependence, the very wisdom of God will be your shield. I am praying that you will know his presence as a very present help, and that his peace will rule in your hearts even while the threats remain unresolved.
