PRAYERS
PRAYER FOR THE VICTIM/SURVIVORS
Our Father in Heaven,
We know the heart of a child can be broken by so many things: condemnation, grief, failure, betrayal, and especially sexual assault. Jesus, we ask you to comfort and restore the innocent children, as you promised in Matthew 5:4: "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted."
For those wounded through sexual abuse, we pray for healing of their spirits, emotions, memories, bodies, minds and sexuality. We ask that You would cleanse and wash their memories of the horrors they have endured. We pray that You would comfort them and give them peace. We pray, Father, that you would surround them with wise counsellors and friends who will help them walk out their journeys of healing. We pray that You would give them courage to speak out about the things that have been done to them. Father we pray for the children, that they would be given wisdom to know who to tell about their abuse. We pray that You would remove the feelings of powerlessness and the fear of the threats that have been told to them to keep them silent. We pray that these victims and survivors will be freed of shame, guilt and hatred, and that you would restore complete wholeness to their body, minds and emotions.

We thank you for your promise that, “whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it and it will be yours†(Mark 11:24). We pray this promise for those who have suffered sexual abuse – that You will give them freedom from the emotional, mental, spiritual, and in some cases physical scars, inflicted on them by sexual predators.
We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ.
