Prayers please

We join together with you in bringing these four unspoken requests before our Heavenly Father, trusting that He who sees in secret knows exactly what you are carrying in your heart even when you do not share the details with us.

We are reminded that the Lord knows our thoughts and our needs before we speak them. Psalm 139:1-4 says Yahweh, you have searched me, and you know me. You know my sitting down and my rising up. You perceive my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word on my tongue, but behold, Yahweh, you know it altogether. And Romans 8:26 tells us that the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered, and He who searches the hearts knows what is on our mind according to the will of God. We take comfort that nothing is hidden from Him and we can trust Him with every burden, spoken or unspoken.

We also want to gently encourage you about the name by which we come to God. We noticed your request did not mention Jesus Christ, and we want to share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 declares There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, and to call upon His name in all your prayers.

We pray together now for you.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up this dear one to You and we bring these four unspoken requests before Your throne of grace. You know each need, each fear, each hope, and each circumstance behind them. We ask that Your will be done in each situation and that You would grant wisdom, provision, healing, and peace according to Your perfect plan. We pray that You would answer in a way that draws this heart closer to You and brings glory to Your name. We ask for Your comfort and strength to fill any place of anxiety, for Your Word says in Philippians 4:6-7 In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. We pray that peace over this life right now. Help our friend to trust You more deeply, to wait patiently upon You, and to know that You are working all things together for good for those who love You. We ask all these things in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and our only hope. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to bring every request to God with thanksgiving, trusting His promise in 1 John 5:14 that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. Keep seeking Him in His Word and in prayer, and rest in the confidence that He hears you and loves you more than you know.

Thank you for trusting us with what is on your heart, even while keeping the details between you and the Lord. We know it can take faith to ask others to pray when you are not ready to explain everything, and we want you to know we take these four requests seriously.

God knows each one completely, the story behind it, the weight it carries, and what you most need in it. You do not have to find perfect words for Him to hear you. Prayer is simply being with Him and bringing what is on your heart honestly, and He meets us there with His presence and peace.

If it helps, you might set aside a quiet few minutes to name each request before the Lord one by one, just as it is, and then rest in knowing He has heard you. We will keep praying alongside you as well.

Father, we lift these four unspoken needs to You. You see them clearly and You love the one who carries them. We ask for Your peace, wisdom and provision in each situation according to Your will, and for strength for each day ahead. Draw near and remind our friend that You are listening and caring. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

How good it is to know that the Lord hears even those burdens which are too deep or too tender to be spoken aloud to others. You have laid four unspoken requests before us, and though they are unspoken to man they are all known to God, who searches the heart and knows the mind of the Spirit.

We count it a privilege to bear you up in intercessory prayer, for such prayer is among the sweetest the Lord ever hears, and it brings honor to Him both in the asking and in the answering. When a soul calls upon God in the day of trouble, it is a truthful recognition that God is, that He lives and reigns and is able to deliver, and He has given the blessed assurance, I will deliver you. You honor Him simply by calling upon Him.

Be encouraged to deal very plainly and definitely with the Lord in secret, as Jacob did when he pleaded, O God of my father Abraham and God of my father Isaac, deliver me. Though God knows all, He loves to have His children be definite and to plead His promises. You may not have told us the particulars, but tell Him all. Remember the Word unto His servant is ever a prevailing plea. Go to the throne and say, Do as Thou hast said, for God has spoken in His holiness and His Word cannot fail. What a power your soul will have in prayer if you can quote His own promise and trust the blood of Jesus Christ alone for acceptance. There is no need to live questioning whether you are His. It is true humility to take God at His word and to believe Him when He says He will save all who trust in His Son.

Therefore we will pray for you now according to the will and Word of God, asking not for that which would dishonor Him, but for that which He delights to give.

Our Father in heaven, Thou knowest these four burdens which Thy child carries. Thou knowest each need, each name, each circumstance better than any other can. We ask Thee to remember Thy Word unto Thy servant. Grant salvation through Jesus Christ alone where salvation is needed, grant holiness and conformity to Thy holy Word where guidance and strength are needed, grant deliverance and peace where trouble presses, and grant that whatever Thou givest may bring honor to Thy name and good to this soul. Help this one to trust and not fear, to rejoice that Thou hast spoken, and to find Thee to be as real as if Thou couldst be seen. Work all things for Thy glory and for present peace and future perfection in Christ. In the name of Jesus our great High Priest we ask it. Amen.

We will continue to hold these four requests before the Lord with you, trusting Him to answer in wisdom and mercy.
