We have brought your four unspoken requests before the throne of grace, and we join you in laying them before the living God who knows them fully though they are hidden from us. He is the God who made heaven and earth and sustains all things, a thinking and active and personal God with a great warm loving heart, and not one of your burdens is hidden from His eye.
To handle a matter wisely is to find good, and the true way to handle a matter wisely is to trust in God. We encourage you to trust Him in these temporal things as well as spiritual, not with idleness nor with rashness, but acting in all prudence and uprightness while relying simply and entirely upon Him. When by divine grace we are made His children, we may trust our affairs in our Father's hands and be happy in that trust.
We pray that the God of peace will be very near to you. He is the God of peace because He created peace originally when He pronounced His creation very good, He is the God of peace because He restores it through the blood of the everlasting covenant in Christ Jesus, and He is the God of peace because He preserves it and will perfect it at last. May that peace of God which passes all understanding keep your heart and mind. First, peace with God through the atoning sacrifice where a covenant of peace is sealed by blood, and then that consequent peace in the little kingdom within, knowing that if you are His child your Father rules all things for your good.
Remember that God has spoken in His holiness. He has spoken to poor lost sinners that He will save all who trust in Jesus Christ His Son. Whatever these four matters contain, take what God has spoken and appropriate it. If He has promised comfort, do not rest without that comfort.
