Prayers please

Thank you for sharing these four unspoken requests and allowing us to pray for you. Even though they are unspoken to us, they are fully known to your Father. Jesus taught that your Father knows what you need before you ask Him, so prayer is not about informing God of details He does not know. It is about bringing your heart to Him, consenting to His will, and opening the door for Him to do what He has desired to do in your life without violating your will.

Because prayer rests on relationship, it begins with being able to truly say Our Father. That relationship is established only through faith in Jesus Christ. If you have trusted Him for salvation, you have access to come boldly to the Father in Jesus name. If that relationship is not yet settled, the first prayer God desires to hear is simply, God be merciful to me, a sinner, and He will hear and answer.

We are joining with you now and agreeing together for each of these four needs, knowing that the earnest, heartfelt prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. You do not need long or eloquent words. The prayers recorded in Scripture are often very short, and God hears even the prayer that is only in the heart and mind. What matters is a sincere heart that seeks His will. The model Jesus gave reminds us to pray, Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. The wisest and most peaceful prayer we can pray in any situation is, Lord, work out Your perfect will in my life. Have Your way.

Some answers come quickly and some require waiting and trusting when we do not understand what God is doing. True trust says, Lord, I do not understand, but I know You are at work, so keep working and remember mercy. He is your strong habitation to which you may continually resort, a refuge and strength in every need. As you bring these requests to Him, ask Him also to guide you, to cause you to know the way you should walk, and to make His will known to your heart so you can pray it back to Him.

We are praying that God will answer each of these four requests according to His wisdom and love, that He will give you assurance and comfort by His Spirit as you pray, and that He will be glorified in the outcome. May your prayer of faith end with praise, with confidence that He has heard you and will do what is best. May you find joy in spending time with the Father and in watching Him work.
