Prayers Please

Thank you for trusting us with these burdens and allowing us to pray with you. God knows the details of each of your four unspoken requests even when they are not put into words. He hears the prayers that rise only in the heart and mind, and His Spirit brings assurance and comfort as we bring them to Him.

We will join together in agreement for you, believing the promise that when His people agree together concerning a matter, He hears, and that the earnest, heartfelt prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces results. Scripture gives us Elijah as an example of this, a man with a nature like ours whose prayer was heard and answered.

Prayer is not limited by distance or circumstance. The apostle Paul showed this when he was in prison and yet continued to minister through prayer to churches far away. In the same way, though we may not be with you in person, we can truly bring your needs before the Lord and trust Him to work.

There are different dimensions to prayer. It is worship as we recognize the greatness and goodness of God, it is petition as we bring our own needs to Him, and it is intercession as we bring the needs of others. No prayer is complete without that reaching beyond ourselves, and we want to stand in that place of intercession for you. Remember also that Jesus Himself lives to intercede for us, and it is through Him that we have access to the Father. If we have come to Him through faith in Jesus Christ, we can come boldly and call Him Father.

You do not need many words or a long prayer for God to hear you. The prayers recorded in Scripture are often very short. What matters is a sincere heart that seeks His will. Prayer is not a way to make God grant our wishes, but a way for His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. So we will pray that His will is accomplished in each of these four areas, and that He will give you wisdom, strength and guidance for whatever you are facing.

Learn to trust in the Lord and rest in Him, even when you do not understand what He is doing. Real trust continues when His ways are beyond our understanding, believing that He is still at work and will do what is right. He is your strong dwelling place, the refuge to which you can continually turn.

We pray with confidence and we close our prayers with praise, thanking God in faith that He has heard and that He will answer according to His perfect wisdom and love. May the Lord hear your supplications, answer you in His faithfulness and righteousness, cause you to know the way you should walk, and fill your heart with peace as you lift your soul to Him.
