Good Afternoon Brothers and Sisters, I am praying concerning healing and the desire to move out from this current apartment into something better. The management company is untrustworthy and has been overcharging me rent. I am asking you Lord in Jesus name for wisdom in navigating this housing situation. I am still looking for employment after leaving a devastatingly abusive work environment. I have been unemployed for two years after 20 years of service at the same company and I am still recovering. Somedays it feels like there's no help around and nothing is changing. I pray that my health doesn't worsen. I need your assistance Lord.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your situation to Him who sees all and knows all. First and foremost, we want to affirm that your trust is in the right place, Jesus Christ is your refuge, your strength, and your provider. We are reminded of Psalm 34:17-19, which says, "The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all." Even in this season of waiting and uncertainty, the Lord is near to you, and He has not forgotten your cries.

We rebuke the spirit of despair and hopelessness that has tried to take root in your heart. The enemy would love for you to believe that nothing will change, that you are forgotten, or that your circumstances are permanent. But we declare that this is a lie! Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you," says Yahweh, "thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." The Lord has a plan for you, and it is a plan for good. We stand in agreement with you, praying that His peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

We also lift up your housing situation to the Lord. It is unjust that you have been overcharged and mistreated by those in authority over you. Proverbs 22:22-23 warns, "Don’t exploit the poor, because he is poor; and don’t crush the needy in court; for Yahweh will plead their case, and plunder the life of those who plunder them." We pray that the Lord would expose any unrighteousness in this situation and bring justice on your behalf. We ask for wisdom as you navigate this process, wisdom to know your rights, wisdom to make decisions that honor God, and wisdom to trust in His provision rather than in man. We declare that the Lord is your Shepherd, and you shall not want (Psalm 23:1). He will lead you to green pastures and still waters, even in this transition.

Your struggle with unemployment is not lost on us, and we grieve with you over the abuse and injustice you endured in your former workplace. It is heartbreaking to see someone who has given so much of their life to a company only to be discarded. But we take comfort in knowing that the Lord sees your faithfulness and your suffering. Psalm 90:17 says, "Let the favor of the Lord our God be on us; establish the work of our hands for us; yes, establish the work of our hands." We pray that the Lord would open doors of opportunity for you, doors that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). We ask that He would restore to you the years that the locusts have eaten (Joel 2:25) and that He would bless you with work that is fulfilling, honorable, and aligned with His purpose for your life.

We also lift up your health to the Lord. It is understandable that stress and uncertainty can take a toll on your body, but we pray that the Lord would strengthen you and sustain you. Isaiah 40:31 reminds us, "But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint." We declare that your strength will be renewed as you wait on the Lord. We pray for healing in every area of your body, mind, and spirit, and we ask that the Lord would give you the grace to care for yourself even as you trust Him for provision.

We must also address the importance of standing on the promises of God and not allowing bitterness or resentment to take root in your heart. The abuse you endured in your workplace and the injustices you are facing now can easily lead to anger or despair. But we encourage you to release these burdens to the Lord. Ephesians 4:31-32 says, "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." Forgiveness is not about excusing the wrong that was done to you; it is about freeing yourself from the chains of bitterness so that you can walk in the freedom Christ has given you.

Finally, we want to remind you that you are not alone. The Lord has placed you in the body of Christ, and we are here to stand with you in prayer and support. Galatians 6:2 says, "Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." We commit to praying for you and lifting you up before the Lord until you see His breakthrough in every area of your life.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister to You. Lord, You see every detail of their life, every struggle, every injustice, every fear, and every hope. We ask that You would be their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Father, we pray for Your justice to prevail in their housing situation. Expose any unrighteousness, and give them wisdom to navigate this process with integrity and trust in You. Provide them with a safe, affordable, and peaceful place to live, where they can rest and recover.

Lord, we ask for Your provision in their employment. Open doors that no man can shut, and lead them to work that is fulfilling, honorable, and aligned with Your purpose for their life. Restore to them the years that have been lost, and bless the work of their hands. Father, we also pray for their health. Strengthen them in body, mind, and spirit. Give them the grace to care for themselves even as they wait on You, and renew their strength like the eagles.

We rebuke the spirit of despair and hopelessness in Jesus’ name. We declare that You are their provider, their healer, and their deliverer. We ask that You would fill them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and that You would guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Help them to release any bitterness or resentment and to walk in the freedom of forgiveness.

Father, we thank You for Your faithfulness. We thank You that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28), even when they cannot see it. Strengthen their faith, and help them to trust in You with all their heart, leaning not on their own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6). We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

And if your health continues to worry you, please don’t hesitate to see a doctor. God often works through medical care, and getting checked out can be part of wise stewardship of your body while you pray.

But deeper than that, we hear the isolation, the sense that there’s no help around. That’s a heavy place to be. We’d gently encourage you to reach out to a nearby church or a small group of believers. Not necessarily for answers, but for presence. When people gather around you just to listen and pray, the burden often becomes more bearable. You weren’t made to shoulder this alone, and sometimes the most practical change isn’t a new apartment or a job first, but someone showing up with you in the waiting.

Lord Jesus, you see this child of yours under the weight of unfair rent, past work trauma, and fragile health. Grant clear next steps for the housing, and bring trustworthy help. Open a door to meaningful work that restores dignity. While answers come, give courage to reach out to others who can stand with them. Ease the dread that things won’t change. You speak of an untrustworthy landlord and a desire for a better apartment, but let your thoughts rise to the Great Landlord who holds the title-deed of all. This house in which you now lodge is but a temporary tenement; God is the true Owner, and you are a tenant upon His earth. The lease He gives contains a clause too often forgotten, that He may enter at any hour to inspect His own property. Your present trouble with overcharging and deceit is a bitter cup, yet remember: the Eternal Landlord never deals crookedly with His tenants. Seek wisdom from Him, and He will direct your steps. But be satisfied first to own His lordship; offer Him the key of your heart, and confess that you live on sufferance as His tenant. The time of your removal to another land will come soon enough; set your hopes, therefore, on that house not made with hands.

You bear the wounds of a devastating work-place and a long unemployment. Alas, a broken heart is a painful malady, and the body, too, feels the smarts. But behold the tree of life, whose leaves are for the healing of the nations: the least thing about Christ is full of healing virtue. It is not a new post or a fairer dwelling that will bind up your spirit; it is the still small voice of God, pardoning and restoring. He has laid you aside these two years, not to forget you, but that you might learn that healing must come before serving. Your Lord must begin with you before you can begin for Him. Do not despise the slowness of recovery; acknowledge in each small strengthening that He has a new claim on your affection. The enemy would have you believe that nothing changes, but faith hears the footfall of the Redeemer even in silence.

You fear your health will worsen. Then flee to Him who forgives sins and heals diseases. Calvary is the place for healing balm, and the hand that pardons is the hand that cures. Whether the outward man decays or revives, the inward life is hid with Christ, and yonder in Heaven the faces of the just shine with eternal freshness, owing all to these healing leaves. Your body may lie low, but there shall be a resurrection, the just to life and the unjust to judgment, so let no physical dread cast you down; rather, let the hope of glory purify your present trial.

The days feel empty of help. Yet when the Sun of Righteousness arises with healing in His wings, the mists of despair roll away. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word; so listen earnestly to the teaching of Christ in Scripture, for in such hours healing power is present to save. Do not let the truth slip, as foolish hearers do. Meditate upon the love that took a poor woman by the hand and lifted her up from the fever; He will do the same for you. The desire to minister, to work, to move, to serve, will spring up naturally out of your healing. Do not force it; wait at His feet, and when He speaks the word, you shall rise and minister unto Him.

Look to the Landlord of your soul, and pay the rent of thankful trust. The trial that seems so barren shall yield the peaceable fruit of righteousness. I pray you may soon see the faithfulness of Him who strengthens us in the Lord, and that your leaf may not wither.

The weight of your afflictions is not hidden from the Lord, yet the soul often grows faint when outward relief delays. You ask for wisdom, and rightly so. But consider: what wisdom do you seek? That which the world esteems is foolishness with God, coming to nothing with its rulers. But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even Christ in you, the hope of glory. Do not then suppose that help is far off. He who withdrew to the mountain and sat to teach His disciples, He who is meek and lowly in heart, is near to the broken spirit. Only take heed that you do not let the flame of zeal be quenched when you rise up from prayer. Many say, “While we are here, we are awed, but when we depart, we become altered again, and the fire of devotion dies.” Why? Because we do not take the word home with us. As soon as you have cried out to God, open the Holy Scriptures; call together your household, if any be with you, and let the voice of the Bridegroom sink deep into your ears. For faith comes by hearing, and he who stands and hears Him rejoices greatly.

In this long trial of unemployment and the treachery of your landlord, be not careless in your petitions. The woman of Samaria, when she met the Lord, did not merely ask for water but became a messenger, saying, “Come, see.” Her wisdom, though imperfect, was commended. So let your necessity drive you not to murmur but to witness. Show the Lord your wounds, but then listen. The One who knows all things will speak to your condition, not always by removing the thorn, but by giving strength to bear it and wisdom to walk through it. And that wisdom is not of this age. It is the hidden mystery which no one knew, which is marvelous, which was foreordained before the ages for our glory.

Do not say, “Nothing is changing.” With God no season is barren. The Apostle sent Epaphroditus with all diligence to relieve heaviness, because joy comes often through a brother’s face when hope was past. So the Lord will send help, perhaps by a door you do not expect. But until then, stand and hear Him. Let your prayer be without wrath and doubting, not demanding immediate remedy, but seeking the perfection that is in Christ Jesus. For this is the goal: that we may present every man perfect in Him. This perfection is not found in comfort of body or a fairer dwelling, but in the knowledge of what Christ has done and the transformation of the inner man.

I will pray with you, but I charge you: let not your hearing be careless. Do not go away from this hour of supplication and return only to the business of life, carrying nothing with you. If I had not spoken, you would have less accountability; but now you have heard. Let the mystery of Christ in you be your anchor. Health may weaken outwardly, but the inward man is renewed day by day. Housing may fail, but you have a building from God, eternal in the heavens. The unjust manager overcharges, but the Lord is a righteous judge. Hold fast to wisdom, not the world’s, but the wisdom that is from above, which is first pure, then peaceable, gentle. So shall you navigate these dark waters, not with craftiness, but with the simplicity that is in Christ, until the day dawn and the morning star arise in your heart.

The weight you are carrying right now is real, and the mix of prolonged unemployment, housing uncertainty, and the lingering wounds from an abusive workplace would make anyone feel like nothing is changing. You are not wrong to cry out for help, and the Lord does not turn away from that honest desperation.

It helps to see that Jesus never confined himself to one pattern when he brought healing. Sometimes he spoke a word from a distance, sometimes he touched, sometimes the healing was immediate, and sometimes it unfolded gradually. The only gradual healing we have recorded in his ministry came when he laid hands on a man, then asked what he saw, and laid hands on him again until his sight was fully restored. So if your own recovery, body, mind, and circumstances, feels slow, it does not mean God is absent from the process. The very way your body and mind are designed to mend over time is still his handiwork. A gradual restoration is no less divine than an instant one.

You mentioned that some days it feels as though there is no help around. Yet right now you are asking for wisdom, and that prayer itself is a sign that the Lord is already tending to your mind and your emotions even while the housing and the job remain unsettled. The deeper healing is often what he pursues first, binding up the scars left by a devastatingly abusive environment so that you are not defined by what was done to you. That work inside you is just as real as any change in outward conditions, and he is faithful to complete it.

I think of how Matthew takes the prophecy from Isaiah, “Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows,” and applies it directly to Jesus healing the sick. The same Christ who bore your sins in his body also entered into the full range of human suffering. That means the physical drain, the financial strain, the anxiety over an untrustworthy landlord, and the ache of a long unemployment are not outside his concern. You can bring each of those burdens to him, not because you have to convince him to care, but because he has already proven his care at the cross.

At the same time, Scripture does not let us presume that God always wills immediate outward relief in every case. Paul prayed three times for a thorn to be removed and was given grace to endure instead. None of that means God is pleased with injustice or indifferent to your need for safe housing and meaningful work. It means he may sometimes carry you through a season without removing every pressure, all while supplying what you need day by day. The temptation in that season is to conclude that nothing is happening, but the truth is that he is often doing his deepest work when our circumstances seem stuck.

The psalmist knew exactly what it felt like to be cast down and upset over an unchanging situation. He did not pretend the trouble away. Instead he spoke to his own soul: “Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God.” That deliberate, almost stubborn hope is the weapon against discouragement. It is not naive optimism; it is fixing your eyes on the character of God when everything visible screams that you are forgotten. You are not forgotten. He has not overlooked the dishonest management company, nor the years of faithful service that ended in abuse, nor the stress of a long job search.

Keep asking for wisdom, keep looking for the next right step, and do not despise the small, slow movements. What looks like a long waiting room may be the place where he heals the deeper wounds and shapes a future you cannot yet see. And while you hope in him for provision and justice, rest in the reality that there is a better way than even the most dramatic outward turnaround: to know that you belong to him, come what may, and that the same power that calmed the sea and commanded evil spirits now guards your life. That love will not let you go, no matter how long the night feels.
