We hear your distress about the pests invading your home, and we stand with you in seeking the Lord’s intervention. The Bible reminds us in Psalm 50:15, "Call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me." Even in seemingly small matters like this, God cares for us and invites us to bring our concerns to Him.
Father God, we come before You now, lifting up this situation. You are the Creator of all things, and nothing is beyond Your control. We ask that You rebuke these pests in the name of Jesus and command them to leave this home. Bring peace and comfort to this household, Lord, and restore a sense of safety and order. We trust in Your power to protect and provide, and we declare that this home belongs to You. May Your presence fill every corner, driving out anything that does not align with Your peace. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

The trial may seem small, a plague of insects invading your home, but the Lord counts the very hairs of your head and marks the sparrow’s fall. Do not think this trouble beneath His notice, nor imagine that your prayers concerning it are too trivial. Such petty vexations are often sent to drive us to our knees, and woe unto us if we refuse the schooling.
Continue much in prayer regarding this matter, and do not grow weary because the answer tarries. When the blessing does not come at once, let your suit become more fervent, more importunate. Follow up your petition by a practical effort: if there be a gap at the threshold, stop it; if a cranny in the wall, fill it; and as you do so, keep knocking at heaven’s door. “Knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” Prayer without watchfulness and diligence is little more than presumption.
Search your heart, lest some sin be the hidden bar to a quick reply. Has a murmuring spirit taken root? Have you neglected the assembling of yourselves with others for social prayer? It may be that the Lord permits this nuisance to chasten some coldness of devotion or to rouse you from spiritual slumber. When our prayers languish, small annoyances become unwelcome reminders of our need for Him.
Lay hold of a promise when you pray, and spread your case before the Lord with all the arguments you can muster. Tell Him that He made every creeping thing, and they are all His servants; that He who calmed the sea can command the tiniest creature; that He is the God of order and not of confusion; and that your habitation, being dedicated to His service, ought not to be a breeding place of vermin. Plead the blood of the covenant and the tender mercies that are over all His works.
Yet remember, the answer may not come in the manner you expect. Jacob prayed for deliverance from Esau, and the Lord answered, but by sending a night of wrestling, a crippling hip, and a new name. Your persistent petition may first reveal a deeper need for quickening in your own soul before the outward trial ceases. Do not despair if the insects remain a while longer; God may be using them to drive you nearer to Himself, and that is a greater mercy than their immediate removal.
Bring this matter, if you will, to the assembled saints. When the Church unites with one accord in prayer and supplication, mighty things are wrought. Even the smallest request, when laid before the throne by many hearts, acquires a weight that moves the arm of Omnipotence. But whether alone or in company, let your prayer be that of a sinner who deserves nothing, yet clings to the Friend of publicans and outcasts, saying, “Lord, I am not worthy, but speak the word only, and Thy servant shall be healed.” Then watch, wait, and work, and in due season the trial shall lift, for prayer, mighty prayer, will yet prevail if it has but time.

You trouble yourself over the coming of insects, yet take no notice of the swarms of sins that enter your soul daily. When we are so negligent in great matters, how shall we ask for deliverance from small, and not make our very prayer an accusation against us? Do not seek to command God as though He were a servant. Consider instead why this small tribulation has been permitted. It is a trial, a wrestling-ground, to make you hardy and patient. For through tribulation we become tried and apt for bearing everything nobly. Therefore, before you ask for the bugs to stop, ask that you may cease from the negligence that leaves the soul unguarded. Make God propitious by prayer and supplication over your own heart, and going forth from that, you will have no enemy that can truly harm you, not even one that creeps. Let your prayer be for a wakeful soul, for if we wake, we shall not need to be so easily disturbed by these little things.

The invasion of pests in your home is more than an inconvenience; it can feel like a slow, creeping violation of the one place you expect to find rest. I will certainly pray for relief from these bugs, but as you bring this before the Lord, consider that He sometimes uses small, persistent irritations to get our attention. His desire is always to heal and restore, yet He often allows affliction to turn our hearts back to Him.
We have a tendency, like bugs drawn to a flame, to keep returning to things that harm us, even when grace is swatting us away from destruction. The little intrusions in your house might be a picture of something deeper that has slipped in unnoticed, something you have tolerated or welcomed that does not belong in a home set apart for God. In Scripture, the Lord renamed a place from “house of God” to “house of idols” because what was meant to be holy became a dwelling for corruption. I am not accusing you of secret sin, but this is an invitation to examine your house, both the physical walls and the spiritual atmosphere. Ask the Lord, “Is there anything here that ought not to be? Any influence, habit, or neglect that has opened a door?”
Pray for the pests to cease, yes, but do not let the moment pass without seeking His face. He stands ready to be found by those who call on Him early, and His mercy is fresh. Let this be a call back to your “Bethel,” the place where you first became conscious of His presence. He will not abandon you; He wants to rid your home of far worse things than insects, so that peace may return.
