Please pray for me and my ex-girlfriend. Recently we had a conversation about how our dynamic feels like limbo or a situationship, and I asked if we could have a real talk soon about what our friendship should look like including boundaries, how much we talk, and what is actually healthy for both of us. I want to handle this in a way that honors God and does not repeat past mistakes. Please pray that God guides me through this potential conversation and makes it clear whether I should stay in contact, set stronger boundaries, or cut all contact whatever He wills. Above all, please pray for her salvation that she would come to know Christ and find peace and rest from the heavy burdens she carries.

We lift you up in prayer, brother, and we are grateful you seek God’s will in this situation. First, we must address something vital: your request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father. Scripture is clear that there is no other name by which we are saved, and it is only through Christ that our prayers are heard. *"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). We encourage you to always approach the throne of grace in Jesus’ name, for He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6).

Now, let us speak to the heart of your request. We commend your desire to honor God in this relationship, but we must also ask you to examine whether this connection aligns with biblical principles. You refer to this woman as your "ex-girlfriend," which implies a romantic history outside the covenant of marriage. If this relationship included physical intimacy, we must lovingly but firmly remind you that such actions outside of marriage are sin—whether fornication or, if either of you were married to others, adultery. Scripture warns us to flee from sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18) and to keep the marriage bed undefiled (Hebrews 13:4). If this was part of your past together, repentance and a commitment to purity moving forward are essential. God’s grace is sufficient to cleanse and restore, but we must turn away from sin and walk in obedience.

As for the "limbo" or "situationship" you describe, we urge you to consider whether maintaining contact with her—especially without clear, godly purpose—is wise or beneficial for either of you. Proverbs 4:23 tells us to *"guard your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life."* Lingering emotional ties or unclear boundaries can easily lead to temptation, confusion, or repeated sin. If this relationship does not have a clear path toward a Christ-centered marriage—*and only if she is a believer*—then it may be best to step away entirely. Second Corinthians 6:14 asks, *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* If she does not share your faith in Christ, pursuing anything beyond a distant, respectful interaction (if necessary) risks compromising your walk with God.

You mentioned her burdens and your prayer for her salvation, which is a godly and compassionate heart. We join you in praying for her to encounter the saving grace of Jesus Christ. However, you are not responsible for her spiritual journey—only for your own obedience. Sometimes, the most loving thing we can do for someone is to create space for them to seek God without the distraction of an emotional tie to us. Trust that the Holy Spirit is fully capable of drawing her to Christ without your ongoing involvement.

Finally, we encourage you to seek godly counsel from mature believers in your life—perhaps a pastor or trusted mentor—who can provide wisdom and accountability. Pray earnestly for clarity, but also be willing to accept that God’s will may require sacrifice, including letting go of this relationship entirely.

**Our Prayer for You:**
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother who seeks Your will in this difficult situation. Lord, we ask that You grant him wisdom that comes from above—wisdom that is pure, peaceable, gentle, and full of mercy (James 3:17). Reveal to him any areas of sin that need to be confessed and repented of, and cleanse him by the blood of Jesus. Give him the strength to set godly boundaries or, if necessary, to walk away entirely for the sake of righteousness.

Father, we also lift up this woman who carries heavy burdens. We pray that You would open her eyes to the truth of the Gospel, that she would turn to Christ in faith and find rest for her soul. Draw her to Yourself, Lord, and surround her with believers who can speak Your truth into her life. Break any chains of sin, shame, or unbelief that bind her, and let her encounter Your love in a way that transforms her forever.

Lord, guard our brother’s heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Help him to trust You fully, even if Your will requires letting go. Fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and remind him that Your plans for him are good—plans to prosper him and not to harm him, plans to give him hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).

We rebuke any schemes of the enemy to bring confusion, temptation, or emotional bondage into this situation. By the authority of Jesus Christ, we declare that our brother will walk in obedience, purity, and clarity. May Your will be done in his life, and may You be glorified through his surrender.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for allowing us the sacred opportunity to lift you and your ex-girlfriend before the Lord in prayer these past few days. It’s been our honor to stand with you as you seek God’s wisdom and direction for this relationship, and we’ve been praying earnestly for clarity, discernment, and a heart that is fully surrendered to His will. The desire to honor Him in this situation is evident in your words, and we trust that He is faithfully leading you, even when the path feels unclear.

If God has already brought resolution or peace to this situation—whether through a conversation, a clear sense of direction, or even a renewed burden for her salvation—we would love to rejoice with you. Please share a praise report so we can give Him the glory together. If you’re still waiting for answers, or if the uncertainty remains, don’t hesitate to post an update or a new request. We are here to continue praying with you, asking the Lord to make His will undeniable and to guard both of your hearts in the process.

Above all, we join you in praying for her salvation, that the Holy Spirit would soften her heart and draw her into the loving arms of Christ. May He replace her burdens with His peace and her restlessness with His rest. We also pray for you—that God would strengthen you with His truth, surround you with godly counsel, and fill you with the confidence that comes from walking in obedience to Him.

We are cheering you on as you seek Him first, trusting that He will guide your steps and use this season for His glory. May you feel His presence deeply as you wait on Him.

We pray this in Jesus Name.
