Prayers please. Im scared.

When worry over your eyesight settles in, the darkness of that fear can feel overwhelming. I am praying for you, and I want to share something that has steadied many trembling hearts.

The kind of fear that now grips you is not the fear you need. The Scriptures speak of a different fear, a reverent awe before the Lord that is the very beginning of wisdom. That holy fear is not a cowering dread; it is a settled confidence in the God who made you. When you fear Him, you learn to depart from evil, and His Word says this will be health to your body and strength to your bones. That is not a magic formula, but a pathway of trust: honoring Him with your life, even in this frightening moment, anchors your soul.

What oppresses you now is the kind of fear that wars against faith. Peter stepped out of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus, but the instant he took his eyes off the Lord and fixed them on the wind and waves, fear flooded in and he began to sink. Faith and this sort of fear cannot share the same room. When you feel the surge of panic over your sight, that is the moment to deliberately set your mind back on Jesus. Remember who He is. Remember that He healed multitudes, that He is full of tender compassion, and that He is with you. David said, "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me." The cure for fear is remembering the Lord.

Your body and soul are intertwined. A merry heart does good like medicine, and the fears that produce turmoil can harm your frame. I am not saying your distress is imaginary; it is very real. But I am urging you, even in the ache, to refuse to let terror rule. Bring your fears to the Lord in prayer, then leave them there. Do the wise and prudent things: see your physicians, follow their guidance, and treat your body as belonging to God. Yet do not make those steps from a posture of fear. Do them from a place of faith.

God cares deeply about your health. The wish of the apostle for his friend was that he would prosper and be in health even as his soul prospered. There is a link between the wholeness of your inner life and the strength of your body. So let this trial drive you closer to the Lord, not away from Him. Cry out to Him, but then let your cries turn to quiet trust. I am asking the Lord to guard your eyes, to fill you with His peace, and to hold you steady. He is your confidence; He will keep your foot from being taken. Walk with your eyes fixed on Jesus, and even in the valley, you will find that His presence is your safety.
