Prayers Needed

We have heard of this terrible accident in ### and our hearts are heavy with sorrow for these three children and their families. To learn that little ones walking to school in order to receive an education should suffer such a sudden and violent injury grieves us deeply, and we join you in bringing them before the Lord in prayer.
We pray first for the children themselves. For the child who remains hospitalized and for the child in intensive care with a fractured skull and severe injuries, we ask the Great Physician to have mercy, to steady the hands of the doctors and nurses, to bring healing where it is possible, and to ease pain and fear. For the third child also we ask for complete recovery. We pray that God who is near to the brokenhearted would be close to each of them in their weakness and confusion.
We pray for their parents and families, for the teachers and classmates at their primary school, and for the farmers and first responders who carried them so far to get help. May God comfort those who love them, give them strength for each day, and surround them with a community that bears their burdens with them. We also remember the whole community that now feels both grief and frustration over the broken road that forced these children onto a dangerous path. We pray for comfort in their mourning and for wisdom and diligence for those in authority, including the Minister of Education and local officials, that they would act justly and quickly to repair what is broken and to protect children from further harm.
In times like this we are reminded that suffering, even when it comes without any fault of those who suffer, is not unseen by God. He does not abandon those who are injured, but crowns with His presence those who endure, and He comforts those who mourn. Though we cannot understand why such a boulder would fall at such a moment, we know that God is faithful and remains our refuge, and that our comfort in affliction can become a comfort to others.
So we pray: Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, have mercy on these children. Lay Your healing hand upon them, bring peace to their families, and pour out Your consolation upon this community. Grant wisdom to those who govern and responsibility for restoration and safety. And help us all to walk in compassion, to support these families, and to trust Your faithful care even in the darkest valley. Amen.
