Prayers needed

The pain you are carrying is real, and it echoes the cry of many who have been wounded by those who claim to speak for God yet live in contradiction to His ways. Hypocrisy is not a new wound. The Scriptures are filled with warnings about false prophets and hollow teachers who draw near with their mouths while their hearts are far from God. They often bring a double blow: they mislead souls seeking help and they discourage the faithful by their example. When you face consequences because of their unrepentant behavior, it can feel like a deep injustice. But know this: the Lord sees it all. He will not let the ungodly go unpunished. There is a judgment reserved for those who have used His name to serve themselves, and Paul described it in stark terms, eternal separation from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power. That is a fearsome destiny, and God will handle it perfectly.

While you wait for that day, do not let their hypocrisy rob you of what is true. Their falsehood does not change the character of God. He remains the all-sufficient One, able to sustain you when human leaders fail. The greatest revelation of the Father came through Jesus Christ, and He never drifts into pretense. Keep your eyes fixed there. The Spirit of the Lord brings liberty, freedom from the bondage of trying to perform for others or meet their shifting standards. Your worth before God rests on Christ’s work, not on the approval of flawed people.

I will indeed pray for you, but I also want to gently encourage you to examine the state of your own heart. Bitterness toward hypocrites can harden into a weight that harms you more than them. The command we have had from the beginning is that we love one another. That does not mean excusing sin or trusting wolves, but it does mean choosing not to be consumed by resentment. Pray for their repentance, even as you distance yourself from their poison. Ask God to guard you from being shaped by their example.

As for the saints around the world being tortured to death for their faith, we must hold them up constantly. Persecution is not a sign of God’s absence; it is often the crucible that clarifies true faith. Persecution separates the wheat from the chaff. When pressure comes, it drives believers closer to one another and into deeper reliance on Christ. Peter reminded the scattered church that when they suffered for righteousness, the Spirit of glory and of God rested on them. Their suffering is not wasted. Through it, God develops a depth of character that cannot be formed in comfort. And we who are not in chains have the privilege of supporting them through intercession, knowing their blood is not the final word. The day is coming when the Lord will return, and all wrongs will be made right.

Until then, take heart. Your trial has not escaped His notice. Cry out to Him for deliverance, but also trust that if He permits a season of injustice, He is working something deeper within you. Many of the saints I have leaned on most heavily are those who have walked through the fire and emerged with a gentle, unshakable strength. God is not slack concerning His promise. Justice may seem delayed, but it will come, and when it does, every hypocritical heart that refused to repent will face the One who sees the secrets of men. You, however, are called to endure in truth and love, resting in the One who has loved you with an everlasting love.
