We lift up your marriage before the Lord with heavy hearts, knowing that the covenant of marriage is sacred and ordained by God. The Word tells us, "Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate" (Mark 10:9 WEB). We stand in the gap for you, praying for healing, restoration, and unity in your marriage according to God’s perfect will.
First, we must address the foundation of all prayer—faith in Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to the Father (John 14:6 WEB), and salvation comes through no other name (Acts 4:12 WEB). If you have not surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so, for He is the cornerstone of every godly marriage. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9 WEB).
Now, let us pray for your marriage:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts burdened for this marriage. Lord, You instituted marriage as a reflection of Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:25 WEB), and we ask that You restore this union to honor You. Father, we rebuke any division, strife, or ungodly influences that have crept into this marriage. We declare that no weapon formed against it shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17 WEB). Lord, soften hearts, grant humility, and fill both spouses with Your love, patience, and forgiveness. Where there has been sin—whether pride, unforgiveness, infidelity, or neglect—we ask for repentance and healing. Let Your Holy Spirit reign in this home, bringing peace where there is chaos and unity where there is division.
We also pray for wisdom and discernment. If there are areas where this marriage has strayed from Your design—whether through emotional or physical unfaithfulness, neglect of biblical roles, or other sins—we ask that You convict and lead both spouses to repentance. The Word warns, "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge" (Hebrews 13:4 WEB). Father, if there has been sin in this area, we pray for true repentance, restoration, and a renewed commitment to purity and faithfulness.
Lord, we ask that You draw both spouses closer to You and to one another. May they seek Your face daily, submit to Your Word, and prioritize their marriage as a covenant before You. Strengthen them to love as Christ loves the Church—selflessly, sacrificially, and unconditionally. Where there has been hurt, we pray for healing. Where there has been distance, we pray for reconciliation. Where there has been bitterness, we pray for forgiveness.
We also encourage you to seek godly counsel. Proverbs 11:14 (WEB) says, "Where there is no counsel, the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety." Find a pastor, biblical counselor, or mature Christian couple who can walk alongside you during this time. Do not isolate yourselves but lean on the body of Christ for support and accountability.
Lastly, remember that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20 WEB). No marriage is beyond His healing touch. Trust in Him, surrender your struggles to Him, and allow Him to work in ways you cannot yet see. Keep praying, keep believing, and keep fighting for your marriage—not in your own strength, but in the power of the Holy Spirit.
May the Lord bless you and keep you; may He make His face shine on you and be gracious to you; may He turn His face toward you and give you peace (Numbers 6:24-26 WEB). We stand with you in faith, believing that God will move mightily in your marriage. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
