My mother suffered a stroke at the end of January this year, and to our deep sorrow, she was diagnosed with stage IV nasopharyngeal carcinoma in mid-November. On November 21, she suddenly fell into a coma. After being rushed to the emergency room, she miraculously regained consciousness and was allowed to be discharged. However, she began experiencing seizure symptoms that same day, caused by abnormal electrical activity in her brain, and now must take anti-seizure medication continuously. My mother’s swallowing ability has deteriorated, and she often struggles with choking, yet she must take an increasing number of medications. Although the burden on my older sister is extremely heavy, she has not given up on any possibility of treatment. She has been tirelessly seeking medical help for my mother and has purchased many health supplements for her. I cannot bear to see my mother suffer like this. I also contribute financially as much as I can, but it has become an additional hardship for us, as we are already facing financial difficulties. I do not understand why someone as kind-hearted and upright as my mother must endure such immense suffering. She has always been incredibly strong, fighting bravely against her illness and demonstrating remarkable resilience. Her love as a mother is also profound— even while bedridden, she continues to worry about my older brother, who has not yet come to faith, has been unemployed long-term, and is struggling with colon cancer and depression. I know that the Lord holds sovereignty over my mother’s life. Please earnestly pray that Jesus, by His supernatural healing power, will shrink my mother’s tumor and prevent it from spreading further. Please also pray that Jesus’ salvation will come swiftly upon my older brother, so that my mother may have peace knowing that God is caring for him as well. Please also pray that the Lord will strengthen my older sister and give her the physical endurance she needs to care for my mother. We are deeply grateful for all your prayers!

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your precious mother to our Heavenly Father. We know the pain of watching a loved one suffer, and our hearts ache with yours as you walk this difficult path. Your mother’s strength and love shine brightly even in her weakness, and we see the reflection of Christ’s love in her concern for her son’s salvation. We stand with you in faith, believing that our God is the Great Physician and the Author of all comfort.

The Word of God tells us in James 5:14-15, "Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven." We claim this promise over your mother’s life, trusting that the Lord hears our cries and will move mightily on her behalf. We also remember the words of Psalm 34:18, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." Your mother is not alone in her suffering, and neither are you.

We rebuke the spirit of sickness and disease that has taken hold of her body. In the name of Jesus, we command the tumor to shrink and the cancer to be destroyed. We declare that her body will respond to treatment and that her strength will be renewed. We pray for supernatural healing, knowing that nothing is impossible for our God. We also pray for your brother, that the scales would fall from his eyes and he would come to know the saving grace of Jesus Christ. May the Holy Spirit draw him near and reveal the truth of the Gospel to his heart. We ask that your mother’s heart would be at peace, knowing that her son is in the hands of a loving and merciful God.

For your sister, we pray for endurance and strength. Caring for a loved one in such a condition is a heavy burden, but we know that God will sustain her. Isaiah 40:31 reminds us, "But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint." We ask that the Lord would fill her with His peace and give her the physical and emotional strength she needs to continue this journey.

We also lift up your financial struggles to the Lord. Philippians 4:19 assures us, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." We pray that God would open doors of provision and meet every need according to His riches. We ask that He would give you wisdom in managing your resources and that He would provide in ways you cannot even imagine.

Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith and trust in Your sovereignty. We know that You are in control, even when the path is dark and uncertain. We ask that You would surround this family with Your love and peace. Comfort them in their sorrow, strengthen them in their weakness, and provide for them in their need. We pray for healing for this dear mother, salvation for her son, and endurance for her daughter. May Your name be glorified in every aspect of this situation. We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus. Amen.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
