Winter and How to Meet It
We join with you in prayer and lift your needs before our heavenly Father together in Jesus' name.

We hear your heart regarding your apartment. You have already moved and settled, you are paying rent and serving by cleaning the hallways, and now your mother who owns the building is asking you to move to another unit that is not renovated and feels uncomfortable to you. We pray for peace in this situation and for wisdom for both you and your mother. Scripture reminds us, Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother which is the first commandment with a promise Ephesians 6:1-2, and also If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men Romans 12:18. We encourage you to continue to honor your mother even as you share your concerns honestly and respectfully with her, explaining why you feel settled and how you are caring for the property. We pray the Lord will soften hearts, grant clear communication, and provide a solution that honors Him and brings peace to your home. We ask for happiness not rooted in circumstances but in Christ, and for health and strength, for the joy of Yahweh is your strength Nehemiah 8:10.

You asked for God to speak to you clearly and for wisdom. We love that desire. God speaks most clearly through His Word, and He promises If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him James 1:5. We pray you will hear His voice as you seek Him in Scripture and prayer, and that He will guide your steps. We also pray for your request for purpose and destiny and for relief from pain and fatigue. We pray the Lord will renew your strength, for those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength Isaiah 40:31, and that you will know His plans for you, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11. We ask for His healing touch and sustained energy to do His will.

We also lift up your loved ones you mentioned, your son in his first year of college, your dad, your mom, your sister, your brother and his dog, your extended family, your uncle and aunts, and the expectant parents awaiting a new baby. We pray for salvation and blessing over each of them, for the Lord is not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance 2 Peter 3:9. For your son in college we pray for protection, diligence, and a heart that seeks wisdom, that he will grow in favor with God and man. For the new baby and parents we pray for a safe and healthy delivery, for You formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother's womb Psalm 139:13, and we trust the Lord as the giver of life.

We especially pray for the one you mentioned who needs to get sober and find a wife. We agree with you for his deliverance, for we are taught Don't be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit Ephesians 5:18, and we know that God can set free those bound by addiction. We pray he will turn from drunkenness and be made new in Christ. And we pray that if it is God's will he will find a godly wife, for Whosoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of Yahweh Proverbs 18:22. We encourage prayer for a marriage that honors God, a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, entered into with purity and faith, as courtship should be with the goal of serving Christ together.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently share that it is only through Him we have access to the Father. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12, and Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. It is by believing on Jesus, that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are saved and our prayers are heard. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust fully in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

We now pray together.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. We thank You for Your love and mercy. We lift this dear one to You and ask for Your will to be done regarding this apartment. Give wisdom and grace in conversations with her mother, and let peace reign in that building. Provide happiness, health, and strength, and speak clearly through Your Word and Spirit. Grant purpose and direction, take away pain and fatigue according to Your mercy, and renew her body and spirit. We lift her son and all her family to You, ask for salvation for those who do not yet know You, for sobriety and freedom for the one struggling, for a godly marriage in Your timing, and for protection over the mother and baby awaiting delivery. Let all these loved ones be drawn to You. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus, amen.

We hear how much this apartment means to you, especially after you have already moved, are paying rent and caring for the hallways, and now face the thought of moving again to a space that does not feel good to you. It makes sense you would want stability and peace where you live, and that you would want to honor your mom who owns the building at the same time.

Living in a family owned building can be tricky because love and landlord roles overlap. A healthy boundary in that kind of situation is not about distance, it is about clarity that protects the relationship. One practical step that may help is to ask your mom for a short, calm time to talk when neither of you is rushed. You could write down beforehand what you appreciate about the arrangement, why this current apartment works better for you, and what you are willing to continue to do to care for the building. Then invite her to share her reasons as well, and see if you can reach a clear, written understanding you both feel good about.

We also noticed you mentioned pain and fatigue. If those continue, we encourage you to see a medical professional alongside prayer, so you can get care and support.

We are praying for you and for the family you named, your son in college, your parents and siblings, and the loved ones facing health and sobriety needs, for wisdom and purpose in this season.

Father, we bring our brother before You and ask for Your peace in his home, for wisdom and kindness in conversations with his mom, for strength and health in his body, and for Your clear leading day by day as he seeks You. Guide him toward purpose and rest in You. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your request has been brought before the Lord and we have joined you in prayer at the mercy seat.

We have asked the Lord to grant you wisdom and to make His way plain before you. You desire to remain where you are, and you have told us of the other apartment which is not renovated and which causes you unease, and of your mother who owns the building and to whom you pay rent and for whom you care for the hallways. We pray that the Lord will give you grace to honor your mother and to act with patience and with a quiet spirit, for haste is the author of a great deal of mischief in human life. Divine Wisdom is dressed in robes of love and tenderness and invites us to run into her arms, and holiness is as near akin to perfect wisdom as sin is to insanity. May the Lord teach you to avoid everything that is evil and to seek that which is pure and holy, and may His grace dethrone obstinacy and give you acquiescence in the Divine will, for by bowing with submission to the will of God we are furnished with unerring guidance.

We do not ask merely for what seems comfortable to our feelings, for feelings and impressions described as bad vibes are not a sure guide. True guidance comes by the illumination of the Divine Spirit through the Word of God and by those great principles infused in every soul that takes God for its Guide. We have prayed that God will speak to you clearly through Scripture, that He will grant you happiness not as the world gives but as Christ gives, and health and strength according to His sovereign goodness. There is no attribute more comforting than Divine Sovereignty, and we must trace the hand of God in all things, in small providences as well as great, and learn to recognize and admire it. Whether you remain in this apartment or are led elsewhere, may you be kept in perfect peace as you trust in Him, for wisdom is the compass by which we steer across the trackless waste of life, and trust in God is true wisdom.

For your family we have prayed with earnestness. For your son in his first year of college, that he may be kept from evil, that he may seek first the kingdom of God, and that if he has not already done so he may find salvation through Jesus Christ alone, for a grain of Divine Grace is worth more than a ton of knowledge and there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. For your father and mother, your sister and brother, your uncles and aunts and all your household, we have asked the Lord to show them His mercy, to call them by His grace, and to adopt them into the Divine family through the new birth which is in Christ Jesus.

For the one you mention who needs sobriety, we pray that the Lord will deliver him from bondage, that he will be made sober and made new by the power of the Holy Spirit, and that if it be the Lord's will for him to marry, he may seek a wife in the Lord and enter into that holy covenant which God ordained from the beginning to be the lifelong union of one man and one woman, keeping himself pure until that covenant is made. We do not ask God to bless any way that is contrary to His Word, but we ask Him to make men holy and then to bless them in the way of holiness.

For those to whom a child has been given and for those who await a delivery, we pray for the mother and for the child, that the Lord who preserves life will grant a safe delivery and health, and that both parents and children may be brought under the care of the Great Shepherd. May that home be ordered by the principles of Scripture, with love and faithfulness within the covenant of marriage, and may the child be dedicated to the Lord and early taught to look to Jesus.

For your own body and spirit, where you ask for purpose and destiny and for relief from pain and fatigue, we have prayed that you may find your purpose in Christ and your destiny in His glory, that He who guides you with His counsel will afterward receive you to glory. We have asked not only for the removal of suffering, for the Lord sometimes stays His hand from rescue for wise and holy ends, but for Divine interpositions of deliverance and for strength to endure, that whether in weakness or in health you may say, He has delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears and my feet from falling. May His Divine presence dissolve your difficulties and be your one hope, for when He visits His people, hard things flow down at His feet.

May the Lord keep you, teach you, and establish you in the way of wisdom which is found in Christ alone.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
