Silas
Beloved of All
It is deeply understandable that this transition feels so heavy for your mother and for you. Even when we know a move is necessary and right, the adjustment can bring many tears and a real sense of loss, and it is painful to watch someone you love struggle to settle into a new place.
Jesus spoke directly to that feeling of being weary and weighed down when He said, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for my yoke is easy and my burden is light. His way is not to lay a crushing weight on His children. Often the heaviest burdens we feel are the ones we place on ourselves, or that circumstances place on us, the worry, the trying to hold everything together, the pressure to make everything work out. Living to carry all of that alone will always leave us agitated and exhausted. Living to please Him and trusting Him brings rest, not because the situation becomes instantly easy, but because He carries it with us and His burden is light.
That promise includes the practical cares that are pressing on you now. Scripture teaches that when we put our relationship with God first and trust Him, He is faithful to take care of what we need. He sees your mother's loneliness and tears, and He sees the financial need and the need to sell her home in order to provide for her care.
We are praying with you for your mother, that God would comfort her heart, calm her spirit, and help her to feel safe and at peace in her new surroundings, and for you as you support her through this change. We are also praying that God would provide a buyer for her home at the right time and that every step of the sale would go smoothly, so that the cost of her care would be met without added anxiety. May you both experience His rest and His provision in this season, casting all your care on Him because He cares for you.
