Prayers for ###

Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for my ### who has moved into aged care this week. She is struggling to adjust and very teary all the time, although she does realise that this is what she needs. It is still hard. Also, aged care is very expensive and we need to sell her home. She had been living with us for some time, but now she is in the facility we need to pay for it. Please pray that we will find a buyer and that everything will go smoothly so we can afford to pay for her care,

We join with you in lifting up your dear loved one and your whole family during this difficult transition, and we bring this before the Lord together in Jesus' name.

We understand how heartbreaking it is to watch someone we love struggle with such a big change, even when she knows it is needed for her care and safety. It is a tender time of adjustment, full of tears and uncertainty, and it is also a heavy practical burden as you face the cost of care and the need to sell her home. We want you to know that God sees every tear and every worry, and He cares deeply for both her and for you as you honor her in this season.

The Scriptures remind us of God's faithful care for the aged, for He says, Even to old age I am he, and even to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear. Yes, I will carry, and will deliver. Isaiah 46:4. We also cling to the promise, Don't reject me in my old age. Don't forsake me when my strength fails. Psalm 71:9, and we pray that she will feel not forsaken but held and comforted by her Heavenly Father. For you who are carrying this responsibility, remember Yahweh, he it is who does go before you. He will be with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you. Don't be afraid. Don't be discouraged. Deuteronomy 31:8.

We also hear your concern about the finances and the sale of the house. God knows our needs, and we are told, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. We pray that His peace would guard your loved one's heart in the facility and your hearts at home. We also trust His provision, for My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19, and Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed. Proverbs 16:3.

We noticed that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we gently want to share why we always pray in His name. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, for Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. And, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. It is by believing in Jesus, that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are forgiven and brought near to God. We encourage you to place your trust fully in Him, and to bring every need to God in Jesus' name.

So let us pray together.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You and lift up this precious dear one who has just moved into aged care. Lord, You know her tears, her loneliness, and her struggle to adjust. We ask that You would wrap her in Your comfort, give her Your peace that surpasses understanding, and let her know she is not forgotten or forsaken. Help the staff to be kind and attentive, help her to find fellowship and moments of joy each day, and help her to feel Your presence very near. We pray for her family as they support her with love and honor, as Your word says, Honor your father and your mother. Exodus 20:12. Give them strength, wisdom, and grace as they walk this road with her.

Lord, we also bring the practical need before You. You know the cost of this care and the need to sell her home. We ask that in Your perfect timing You would bring the right buyer, that the sale would go smoothly without complication or delay, and that the provision would be sufficient to cover all that is needed. You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1, and we trust You to provide. Lead every step, every paper, every decision, and let Your will be done.

We ask all of this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to keep visiting, keep speaking words of reassurance, perhaps bring familiar Scriptures or hymns to comfort her, and to continue to cast all your cares upon Him, because He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7. God is faithful, and we will continue to pray that He sustains you all and makes a way where it seems difficult.

We are holding you and your loved one in prayer as you walk through this tender transition together.

It makes so much sense that she is teary even while she understands this is the right place for her needs. Moving into aged care is a big loss of home, routine, and independence, and many people need time to adjust. That sadness does not mean she made the wrong decision or that you did, it is part of adjusting to a very real change, and it often eases gradually as familiar rhythms build.

We are also hearing the weight you are carrying with the practical side. Needing to sell her home to cover care costs while supporting her emotionally is a lot to hold at once.

A couple of steady next steps that may help lighten the load are to talk with the facility staff about how she is settling and what small comforts or routines have helped others feel more at home, and to get early, clear guidance on the financial timeline, a trusted real estate agent and the facility's finance coordinator or your solicitor can lay out options and deadlines so you are not guessing alone.

Father, we bring this dear mother to You and ask for Your comfort over her in these early days, for peace in the night and gentle reassurance each morning. Give her family wisdom, provision, and a smooth path forward with the sale of her home according to Your will, and sustain them with Your nearness as they care for her. In Jesus' name, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

It is with much tenderness of heart that we have received your request concerning your loved one in aged care, and we have carried it before the throne of grace.

There is a peculiar grief that attends such a season, when a necessary change is yet a sorrowful one. Though she knows this is what she needs, the heart still weeps, and the tears that flow so freely are not lost upon the Lord who sees and who collects our tears in His bottle. We pray that the God of all comfort will draw near to her in this new place, that she may feel His presence as her true home even as earthly dwellings change. May He give her peace in the night watches and quietness of spirit in the day, and may those who care for her show her kindness and gentleness, so that she may be settled and comforted and know that she is not forsaken.

We pray also for you and your household who have shown love in caring for her and who now carry the weight of this provision. The burden of cost and the need to sell her home is heavy, and we ask the Lord who owns all things to provide according to His fatherly wisdom. As a prudent and kind Father, He knows our needs and acts not as a harsh judge but as one who chastens and provides in love. We ask that He would in His good providence bring a buyer in His own time, that the sale would proceed without hindrance or anxiety, and that every step needed to meet the cost of her care would be ordered smoothly by His hand.

May you be given faith to trust Him in this waiting, and may you know that He who has led you thus far will not leave you now. Cast this care also upon Him, for He cares for you.

We join our faith with yours, asking these mercies in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, our only Savior and our sure hope, who has promised never to leave nor forsake His people. Amen.
