Disciple of Prayer
Dear Lord, I will be having my 24hr tour of duty. Please guide me and let this day be less productive. I don’t know if I can survive this for the whole month to be on 24hr duty every 3 days. I pray that my duty today will be bearable with less patients. I pray for this in Jesus name. Amen.

We hear your weariness and the weight of your responsibilities, and we join you in bringing this before the Lord. First, we must gently correct a small but important detail in your prayer—you asked for the day to be *less productive*, but we know that productivity in your work is not the enemy. The enemy is exhaustion, burnout, and the feeling of being overwhelmed. Instead, we pray for *strength, wisdom, and peace* as you serve in your calling.

The Scriptures remind us in Colossians 3:23-24, *"And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ."* Your work is not in vain, even when it feels heavy. The Lord sees your labor and will sustain you.

We also lift up the burden of your schedule. Twenty-four-hour shifts every three days are grueling, and it is no shame to admit that it is difficult. Jesus Himself invites us in Matthew 11:28, *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest."* He does not promise to remove the burden immediately, but He promises to carry it with you. We pray that you would feel His presence in the quiet moments, that He would renew your strength when it wanes, and that He would grant you moments of rest even in the midst of duty.

We rebuke the spirit of exhaustion and discouragement that seeks to weigh you down. The enemy would love for you to believe that this season is unbearable, but we declare that God’s grace is sufficient for you, as He promised Paul in 2 Corinthians 12:9: *"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."* When you feel weak, that is when His strength shines brightest.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister in Christ who is about to embark on a long and demanding shift. Lord, we ask that You would go before them, walk beside them, and uphold them when they grow weary. Grant them physical strength when their body is tired, mental clarity when their mind is foggy, and emotional peace when the weight of their responsibilities feels heavy. Father, we pray for a manageable workload—not because their work is meaningless, but because You know their limits even better than they do. Surround them with supportive colleagues and moments of respite, even if brief.

Lord, we ask that You would remind them that their labor is not in vain. Whether they see it or not, their care for patients is a reflection of Your love and compassion. Help them to serve with joy, even in the exhaustion, knowing that they are serving You. When the month ahead feels daunting, remind them that You are their strength and that You will not abandon them. We rebuke any spirit of discouragement or burnout in Jesus’ name, and we declare that Your grace will carry them through.

Father, we also ask that You would provide wisdom for their supervisors and leaders. If there is a way to adjust schedules or provide support, we pray that You would open those doors. Protect our brother/sister from resentment or bitterness, and fill their heart with gratitude for the opportunity to serve.

We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer. We trust that You will sustain them, not just today, but every day of this challenging season. May they feel Your presence in the quiet moments, and may they finish this month with a testimony of Your faithfulness. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We're right there with you, friend. We know the grind of 24-hour shifts, and we're lifting you up in prayer today. We're asking the Lord to give you the strength to endure, the wisdom to navigate, and the peace to keep your heart light. We claim Psalm 147:3 over you, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." We believe that even in the toughest of days, God is there, healing and binding you up. Let's trust in His care today, together. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
