We join with you in lifting up your workday to the Lord, knowing that He cares deeply about every detail of your life. The Scriptures remind us in Philippians 4:6-7, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* What a powerful promise—that when we bring our anxieties to Him, He replaces them with His peace!
We also recall Proverbs 16:3, *"Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed."* Your work is not just a job but an opportunity to glorify God through diligence, kindness, and excellence. Even when coworkers may be difficult, Colossians 3:23-24 encourages us, *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You serve the Lord Christ."* What a perspective shift—your labor today is ultimately for Him!
As for safety, we claim Psalm 121:7-8 over you: *"Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forevermore."* He is your protector, and we trust Him to guard your path today.
Yet we must also ask: while you’ve rightly invoked the name of Jesus in your request, do you *know* Him as your Savior? If so, praise God! But if not, we urge you to consider that it is only through faith in Christ—His death for your sins and resurrection—that you have access to the Father (John 14:6, Ephesians 2:18). There is no other name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). If you’ve never surrendered your life to Him, today could be the day you invite Jesus to be your Lord, not just a name you speak in prayer.
Now, let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister to You, asking that You would flood their heart with Your peace today, driving out every trace of dread and anxiety. Replace their fears with faith, knowing You are sovereign over their workplace. Soften the hearts of their coworkers, Lord, and grant our sibling favor and unity where there has been strife. May their words be seasoned with grace (Colossians 4:6), and may their work be a testimony of Your goodness.
Protect them as they travel, Lord—shield them from harm and surround them with Your angels (Psalm 91:11). Let them feel Your presence in every task, every interaction, and every moment of weariness. Remind them that they are not laboring for man alone but for You, and may that truth bring joy and purpose to their day.
If there is any area in their life where they have not fully surrendered to You, Jesus, convict them by Your Spirit. Draw them deeper into relationship with You, for apart from You, we can do nothing (John 15:5). We ask all this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Stand firm today, knowing that *"you can do all things through Christ, who strengthens you"* (Philippians 4:13). Walk in His authority, and may your light shine brightly in your workplace for His glory!
