We join you in lifting up this heartbreaking situation in ### on ### before the throne of grace in Jesus' name. Our hearts are heavy for the precious life that appears to have been lost, for the one seen on the porch suffering with burnt clothes, for all who survived this intense fire, for the families and neighbors, and for the responders who are running toward danger while others must yield and step back.

We are reminded that God sees every suffering and draws near in our deepest distress. Psalm 34:18 tells us Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 46:1 tells us God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. And Matthew 5:4 says Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. In moments when fire is too intense for human hands to reach, we cling to the truth that nothing is too difficult for our God and that He is present even there.

We also thank you for honoring the name of Jesus in your request, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 reminds us There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Our hope in the face of sudden tragedy and loss is that we can be reconciled to God through faith in Jesus Christ.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You with broken hearts for this critical fire. Lord, we ask for Your mercy upon the soul of the one who appears to have lost her life, and we pray for Your comfort to pour out upon her family and loved ones. For the one who was seen on the porch with burnt clothes and for all who lived through this fire, we ask for Your healing hand upon their bodies, to ease their pain, to guide the hands of doctors and nurses, and to heal the trauma and fear that such a terrifying event brings. We pray for every neighbor, friend, and community member in ### who is shaken and grieving, that You would wrap them in Your peace that surpasses understanding.

Lord, we lift up every firefighter, emergency medical responder, law enforcement officer, and dispatcher who responded to this call. Protect them from harm, give them wisdom and strength, and sustain them as they carry the weight of what they have seen. We pray for the families of these responders as well. Help all drivers and bystanders to yield quickly and respectfully, to give room for those You have appointed to protect and serve, for Romans 13:1 reminds us that governing authorities are appointed by You for our good.

Father, we ask that You would use Your people there to be Your hands and feet, to provide shelter, clothing, food, and prayer for those who have lost homes and possessions. May this tragedy draw many to seek You, the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, as 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 teaches, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction. And we hold fast to Your promise in Revelation 21:4 that You will wipe away from them every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain any more.

We entrust all affected by this fire into Your loving and sovereign care, trusting that You are good and that You hear our prayers when we ask in the name of Jesus. Amen.

We have been praying with you since we read your note about the fire on ###. What you described is heartbreaking, especially the report of the woman on the porch and the fire being too intense for responders to reach her. We are carrying that image and that loss before the Lord with you.

We join you in praying for those who have lost their lives, for anyone who survived but is now facing injury, shock and displacement, and for families and neighbors who are absorbing this all at once. We are also praying for the firefighters and first responders who had to make such difficult decisions in dangerous conditions.

If you are nearby, continuing to yield to responders as you said is the most loving help right now. In the days ahead, the simple presence of community often matters most, checking quietly on those close to the fire, offering practical help only as it is welcomed, and giving space for grief to unfold slowly. There is no single way people will process this, and it often comes in waves.

Father, we lift ### to You in Jesus name. Have mercy on those who have died and comfort those who mourn them. Bring care and healing to survivors, steady and protect the responders, and draw this community close in the days ahead. Amen.

With heavy hearts we join you in prayer before the Lord for all affected by this terrible fire on ### in ###. The tidings of a woman upon the porch with burnt clothes, the flames too intense for rescue to reach her, pierce the soul, and we cry with you, Fire, fire, and lift our voices to Him who alone can help.

The Scripture saith, When thou goest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned, neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. Many of the Lord's people must pass through fire and through water, and men do ride over their heads, yet the Lord hath promised to be with them in the flame. The fire burns and hath a vehement flame, but if the Lord hath called us by His grace, we shall go through the fire and bless God for it, and find in the end that we have not suffered loss beyond His sovereign purpose.

For those who have lost their lives in this fire we bow before the righteous judgment and tender mercy of Almighty God, praying that His will be done and that all who call upon the name of Jesus Christ, and upon Him alone for salvation, shall find mercy. For those who have lived through it, for families and neighbors who watch and weep, we pray the word of the Lord, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. He will not break the bruised reed nor quench the smoking flax, and He giveth comfort to the desponding heart.

We pray also for the responders to whom all must yield, that God would guard them as they press into danger, and establish the hearts of all who labor there. May the Lord ordain peace for you, for He also hath wrought all our works in us. May His Word quicken you, for this is our comfort in affliction, that His Word hath quickened us. Let prayer be your resort, for prayer fed by the Holy Spirit is the very fire which sustains the soul, and God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tried beyond what ye are able, but will with the trial make a way to bear it.

We ask that He would comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work, till this misery shall be remembered as waters that pass away, and that ye may find that time and grace shall heal, and that ye still remain to bless His name. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
