We understand your burden and the stress this extra driving has placed on you, both financially and physically. The wear and tear on your vehicle, along with the added expenses, are real concerns, and it’s clear this situation is weighing heavily on your heart. We appreciate that you’ve approached this with a willingness to serve others while also recognizing the need for balance and wisdom in your work responsibilities.
Scripture reminds us in **Matthew 11:28-30**, *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."* Jesus calls us to bring our burdens to Him, trusting that He will provide rest and solutions. Additionally, **Philippians 4:19** assures us, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* This includes not just financial provision but also wisdom in how to navigate this season of heavy workload.
At the same time, we are called to steward our resources wisely, and it’s important to communicate your concerns with respect and clarity. **Colossians 3:23-24** tells us, *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You serve the Lord Christ."* While we are to work diligently, this doesn’t mean we should allow ourselves to be taken advantage of or overburdened without seeking godly wisdom and boundaries. If possible, consider having a humble and respectful conversation with your boss about the challenges you’re facing. Share how the current demands are affecting your ability to maintain your vehicle and fulfill your duties effectively. Ask if there’s a way to adjust the schedule or share the driving responsibilities more evenly.
We also encourage you to trust God’s timing in this season. If He has not yet opened a door to a new job, it may be that He is teaching you dependence on Him or preparing you for something greater. **Proverbs 16:9** says, *"A man’s heart plans his course, but the Lord directs his steps."* Rest in the knowledge that He is directing your path, even when the road feels long.
Let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister to You, asking for Your divine intervention in their work situation. Lord, You see the miles they’ve driven, the weariness in their body, and the strain on their finances. We ask that You provide wisdom and favor as they navigate this season. If it is Your will, open doors to a new job that aligns with their skills and brings rest to their soul. But if You are calling them to remain where they are, we pray for supernatural provision—whether through adjusted responsibilities, shared burdens, or unexpected financial blessings to cover the costs they’ve incurred. Give them the courage to speak with their boss in a way that honors You, and soften their boss’s heart to hear and respond with fairness.
We also pray for protection over them as they travel, that You would keep them safe from harm and accidents. Renew their strength, Lord, and remind them that their worth is not found in their work but in You. Help them to cast their anxieties on You, knowing that You care for them deeply (1 Peter 5:7). May they experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus, our Provider and Sustain-er. Amen.
Stand firm in faith, knowing that God hears your prayers and is working on your behalf. Keep seeking Him first, and trust that He will guide your steps. If the workload continues to feel unbearable, pray for discernment about whether this job remains the right place for you. Sometimes God uses these seasons to push us toward something better, and other times He strengthens us to endure for His purposes. Either way, He is with you.
