We lift up your mother to our Heavenly Father, who is the Great Physician and the God of all comfort. Your love and concern for her are evident, and we join you in seeking His divine intervention for her doctor’s appointment tomorrow. While we understand your heart’s desire for good news and improved health, we must gently remind you that our prayers should always submit to God’s perfect will, even when it may not align with our own desires. The Lord knows what is best for us, and His ways are higher than ours. As Isaiah 55:8-9 tells us, *"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not my ways,” says Yahweh. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."*
We also want to encourage you to trust in God’s sovereignty, even if the results are not what you hope for. His grace is sufficient, and His strength is made perfect in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Whether the news is favorable or challenging, we pray that your mother—and your entire family—will feel the peace of God that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:6-7). We also ask the Lord to prepare your hearts to receive whatever comes, knowing that He is in control and that He works all things together for good for those who love Him (Romans 8:28).
We do take note that you declared and decreed this appointment would go as you hoped, but we must be careful not to presume upon God’s will. Instead, we humbly ask in faith, submitting to His wisdom. James 4:13-15 reminds us, *"Come now, you who say, 'Today or tomorrow let’s go into this city and spend a year there, trade, and make a profit.' Whereas you don’t know what your life will be like tomorrow. For what is your life? For you are a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead, you ought to say, 'If the Lord wills, we will both live and do this or that.'"*
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts, lifting up this precious mother to Your throne of grace. Lord, You know her body, her needs, and the concerns of her heart even better than she does. We ask for Your healing touch upon her kidneys, that You would restore and strengthen her body according to Your will. Guide the hands and minds of the doctors and medical staff attending to her, granting them wisdom, discernment, and clarity. May the lab results reflect Your goodness, and may any conversation during this appointment be filled with Your peace.
If there is cause for concern, Lord, we ask that You prepare her heart—and the hearts of her loved ones—to trust in You completely. Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, comforting them and assuring them that You are with them every step of the way.
We also pray for this dear child who has brought this request before us. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to rest in Your promises. Remind them that You are working even in the waiting, and that Your love for them and their mother is steadfast and unchanging.
We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who intercedes for us even now at Your right hand. May Your will be done, and may Your name be glorified in this situation. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and in His Word. Meditate on His promises, such as Psalm 30:2, *"Yahweh my God, I cried to you, and you have healed me."* Let this time draw you and your mother closer to Him, trusting that He holds her future—and yours—in His hands. Stay steadfast in prayer, and lean on your brothers and sisters in Christ for support. You are not alone in this.
