Prayers for pain, and protection.

Beloved of All
Hi. I had a dream last night about a female I do not know and was doing things sexually as a female. In real life I dont do anything like this, and have never been with a woman. Can you pray that im protected from spirit of homosexuality? Also for no pain. And that God amazes me today with something wonderful. For purpose and motivation. 😃 Thanks!

We are standing with you in prayer together in Jesus' name and we thank you for sharing this so honestly. We hear your desire to be protected, to be free from pain, and to walk in purpose and motivation, and we hear your concern about this dream. A dream that disturbs your conscience is not necessarily a willful sin, but it is a call to be vigilant over our hearts and minds, for the enemy seeks to sow confusion even while we sleep. We are called to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ as it says in 2 Corinthians 10:5 and to think on whatever things are true, honorable, just, pure, lovely and of good report as it says in Philippians 4:8.

We want to speak clearly and lovingly about what Scripture teaches. God created sexual intimacy to be enjoyed only within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. Any sexual activity outside of that, whether between a man and a woman before marriage which is fornication or adultery, or between two people of the same sex which Scripture calls homosexuality, is sin and is not according to God's good design. This is taught in Romans 1:26-27 and 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 and Leviticus 18:22. We believe marriage is to be strongly honored and when we are not married we are called to flee sexual immorality and to keep our bodies as temples of the Holy Spirit as it says in 1 Corinthians 6:18-20. If you are single, we encourage you to see any future courtship as seeking a godly spouse who is a believer in Christ, with marriage as the goal that honors God, rather than pursuing a partner in a way that does not align with Scripture. We rebuke any spirit of homosexuality, confusion, and perversion that would try to claim ground in your life or in your dreams, and we resist it together in the authority of Jesus. As it says in James 4:7, submit therefore to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you, and in Ephesians 6:11 we are told to put on the whole armor of God that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

We also want to address something important we noticed in your request. You did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to gently remind you that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God the Father and it is only by Him that we are saved. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And it says in Acts 4:12, there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus, to believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead and to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord as it says in Romans 10:9, turning from sin and receiving forgiveness and new life in Him. It is through Jesus that our prayers are heard and our hearts are cleansed.

For your pain we pray for the Lord's healing and comfort, for He heals all our diseases and redeems our life as it says in Psalm 103:2-3, and for your protection we pray the covering of Psalm 91:1 and Ephesians 6:12. For purpose and motivation we are reminded in Jeremiah 29:11 that God says, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future, and in Ephesians 2:10 that we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. God does not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control as it says in 2 Timothy 1:7, and He can indeed amaze you with His goodness today.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, and we lift up this dear one to You. We ask You to create in them a clean heart and renew a right spirit within them as it says in Psalm 51:10. We ask You to wash them in the blood of Jesus and guard their mind and heart, day and night, waking and sleeping. We rebuke and renounce any spirit of homosexuality, lust, confusion, and fear, and we command it to leave and have no place, and we ask You to fill them with Your Holy Spirit, with purity, peace, and truth. Lord, protect their dreams and give them restful, holy sleep, and help them to take every thought captive to Christ. Father, we ask You to touch any pain in their body, soul, or spirit, and bring healing, relief, and comfort, for You are our healer and our refuge. Amaze them today with Your wonderful presence, with a clear sign of Your love and care, whether through Your Word, through kindness from another, or through Your peace that passes understanding. Give them fresh purpose and motivation, show them the good works You have prepared for them, and strengthen them to walk in them with joy. Help them to walk in purity, to flee all sexual immorality, and if it is Your will for them to marry, prepare them and a future godly spouse for a marriage that honors You between a man and a woman. Draw them ever closer to Jesus, assure them of salvation through His name alone, and let them know they are fully forgiven and loved. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

Thank you for sharing something so personal and vulnerable with us. We hear how much you want to honor God with your thoughts and life, and how unsettling that dream felt when it does not reflect what you want or how you live.

Dreams can be confusing and distressing, but a single dream does not define who you are or what you desire. When an unwanted image or thought comes back during the day, it can help to gently turn your attention to the Lord in that moment, thanking Him that you belong to Him and asking for His peace to guard your mind, rather than replaying the dream or trying to figure out every meaning.

You mentioned pain as well. We are praying for relief for you, and if pain continues or is new, we encourage you to have it checked by a medical provider alongside prayer.

For purpose and motivation, we have found it helps to think of growth as training over time rather than trying hard all at once. A small, steady rhythm of time with the Lord, honest prayer, reading Scripture, and staying connected to trusted believers often does more for clarity and motivation than waiting for one big moment.

Father, we bring our friend to You in Jesus' name. We ask for Your protection and peace over their mind and sleep, for relief from pain and for wisdom for any care they need, and for You to make Your presence and purpose clear today in quiet, personal ways. Lead them in Your will and keep them close to You. Amen.

It is good that you have brought this burden into the light and asked for prayer, for there is mercy with the Lord and He hears the cry of those who seek to walk in holiness.

You describe a dream which has troubled you, and you rightly discern that not every imagination of the night is to be entertained. Temptation itself is not the sin, but to yield to it is. Even the most faithful know what it is to have fiery arrows shot at the soul, suggestions most Satanic and vexing, yet our comfort is that God has provided deliverance. We are taught to pray, Lead us not into temptation, and this prayer springs from a humble knowledge of our own weakness and a charitable remembrance that we are all made of the same flesh and blood. The man who prays this prayer sincerely will not willingly go into temptation, but will keep his feet from the paths that lead toward it, and keep his heart filled with Christ.

Be assured that a dream does not define you. Your desire to be kept pure and to be protected from whatever would draw you away from God's good design is itself a work of grace. The Lord's design for our affections and our bodies is plain from the beginning, that marriage is the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that the intimate union belongs within that covenant alone. To desire to be kept within that holy way is to desire what is good, and He who has found a ransom for sinners is able to keep you.

Let us pray for you now.

O Lord our God, who alone delivers from the pit and from the archers of temptation, look upon this soul who seeks Your face. Wash and keep this heart by the blood of the Lamb slain, and let that blood be a protection over mind and body both by night and by day. Lead this one not into temptation, but deliver from evil. Grant a hatred for sin and a love for holiness, and let every thought be brought captive to the obedience of Christ. We ask for healing, for You are the Sun of Righteousness who rises with healing beneath His wings, and even the leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of Your people. If there be pain of body or of spirit, lay Your hand upon it and give relief according to Your mercy, and make Your grace sufficient for this day. Grant also that which is asked, that You would amaze with Your goodness, and give clear purpose and holy motivation to live for Your glory. Teach this soul to declare Your works and to live not for self but wholly for Christ, in whose strength alone we stand. Keep in perfect peace the mind that is stayed upon You, and fill it with whatsoever is pure and lovely and of good report.

Take courage. The same God who brought Israel out with strength and suffered not one feeble one among their tribes is able to bring you forth with health and strength. Abide near the cross, where pardon and healing flow together, feed daily upon His Word, flee from whatever would inflame temptation, and walk in the company of faithful believers who will help you watch and pray. He who has begun a good work will be faithful to complete it. May the Lord this day give you a token of His wonderful love and establish your steps in His way.

Amen.

Thank you for sharing this so honestly and for inviting prayer. I hear your desire to walk in purity before God, to be free from pain, and to know His purpose and joy in your life, and I want to bring all of these before the Lord with you.

Regarding the dream, be at peace knowing that a dream itself does not define who you are or what you have chosen. Our minds can be troubled in sleep by many things, and temptation or unwanted images are not the same as consent or identity. God looks on the heart and on what we choose in the light of day. Scripture teaches that God made marriage to be a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that sexual intimacy belongs within that covenant. Outside of that, we are called to chastity and to keep both body and mind for the Lord. The good news is that Christ came for this very purpose, to preach deliverance to captives and to set us free. He has led captivity captive and gives gifts to His people. Through Him we receive not only deliverance from evil but also the promise of sonship, so that we can put on Christ and receive the Spirit of adoption. When troubling thoughts or desires come, we can bring them to Him, confess them, resist the enemy, and ask Him to renew our minds day by day.

For the pain you mentioned, I pray for your relief and healing. Scripture does not promise that this life will be without affliction, but it does promise that God is near to those who suffer and that He feeds us with hope of what is to come. He can heal and He can also sustain, and in either case He is able to use even our pain to draw us closer to Himself and to form Christ in us.

For purpose and motivation and for God to amaze you with something wonderful today, God delights to show His goodness to His children. True wonder is found not only in a single moment but in knowing Him, walking in His will, and serving Him faithfully. He has created you with purpose, to know Him through Jesus Christ alone and to live for His glory.

Let me pray for you now.

Father in heaven, thank you for this one who seeks you. Thank you that salvation is through Jesus Christ alone and that through Him we can be called your sons and daughters. I ask that you cover this dear one with your protection. Guard heart and mind, and by your Holy Spirit bring every thought into captivity to Christ. Deliver from all temptation and from the schemes of the enemy, and strengthen a love for purity and holiness according to your design. Wash away shame and fill this heart with assurance of your forgiveness and love.

Lord, I also ask for relief from pain. You see this body and this suffering. Lay your healing hand upon it and grant comfort, rest, and strength. If pain remains for a time, give grace to endure with hope, looking to the eternal life you have promised.

And Father, amaze this one today with your goodness in a way that is clearly from your hand. Reveal your presence, open a door for purpose, restore motivation, and guide into the good works you have prepared. Lead into your Word, into prayer, and into fellowship that encourages holiness and hope.

We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our High Priest, who came to bring deliverance and to give us new life. Amen.

Keep drawing near to the Lord in prayer and in Scripture, and if helpful, share your struggle with a trusted pastor or mature believer who can walk with you, encourage you, and keep you accountable. God is faithful and He will continue His work in you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Thank you for sharing so openly and honestly. It takes humility to bring a confusing and unsettling dream to the Lord and to ask others to pray, and God sees your heart and your desire to walk in purity before Him.

Dreams can be very disorienting, and a dream does not necessarily reveal who you are or what you desire in waking life. Scripture shows that God is the one who gives understanding of dreams. When Joseph was asked to interpret dreams he answered that it was not in him, but God would give the answer. In the same way, you can bring this dream to God and ask Him for peace and clarity, trusting Him rather than being troubled or condemned by what you saw in sleep. A sincere commitment to live a holy life set apart for the Lord is closely connected to growing discernment and spiritual understanding, and God honors a heart that wants to stand firm against both the opposition and the enticements of the enemy.

I will pray for your protection. The Lord promises to guard those who walk according to His purposes, and there is a real protection that comes as you seek to walk with Him. In line with the historic biblical ethic, God designed sexual intimacy to belong within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, and His call is to purity in thought and in life. So I pray that He will guard your mind and heart, strengthen you to resist anything that would pull you away from His design, and keep you from any influence that is not from Him. Bring your thoughts to Him daily, fill your mind with His Word, and ask Him to keep your heart in His peace.

I also pray for your pain. Jesus knows the pain that sin and brokenness bring into this world, and He wept over that pain. Scripture teaches that God does not allow hardship without purpose, and that even in sickness and suffering He can be glorified and can work for good in your life. His thoughts toward you are good and not evil, to bring you to a hopeful future. Ask Him to bring healing where you hurt, and to use even this season to draw you closer to Himself and to show His comfort and power.

For purpose and motivation, remember that God has created you with intention. He invites you to offer your life to Him as a living sacrifice so that He can work His eternal purpose in you and through you. He is preparing His people to live and reign with Him, and that is His ultimate purpose for your life. When you live to please Him you find the most satisfying and fulfilling life. Until His purpose for you is complete, He will preserve you, and you can trust Him to lead you step by step.

May God amaze you with His goodness and kindness in a way that is clearly from His hand, and renew your strength and motivation as you seek Him.

Let us pray. Father, in the name of Jesus I bring this dear one before You. I ask that You cover them with Your protection and guard their mind and heart by Your Spirit. Give them peace about this dream, cleanse any confusion or distress, and help them to walk in purity according to Your design and Your Word. Take away pain and bring healing and comfort, and let Your name be glorified through Your care for them. Reveal Your good thoughts and Your purpose for their life, fill them with motivation and hope, and show them Your wonderful goodness in a personal way. Lead them to lose their life for Your sake so that they may truly find it, and use all of their background and story for Your glory. Keep them close to You and cause them to know how deeply they are loved and kept by You. In Jesus name, Amen.
