We join you in thanking God for His faithfulness and for how you have seen so many of your prayers answered already. We rejoice with you in your gratitude and we stand with you now as you trust Him for this next step. We lift up your ### visa requirements and your application in ### to the Lord, asking for His favor and His perfect will.
We pray together for wisdom and integrity as you prepare every document. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, Colossians 3:23. We ask God to help you complete everything correctly and appropriately, with honesty and diligence, and we pray that if it is His will, He will grant you approval even though this is your first international travel and your passports have no prior stamps. Nothing is impossible with Him, and we trust that He opens doors that no one can shut. We also cling to the promise that we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose, Romans 8:28, and that for I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future, Jeremiah 29:11. Whatever the result of the visa, we trust His plans and His reasons are good.
We also want to lovingly speak truth to you concerning your relationship, as you referred to your boyfriend and yourself. We believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, and we see the boyfriend and girlfriend season as courtship with the goal of discerning marriage to another Christian believer. Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, 2 Corinthians 6:14. We encourage you both to seek the Lord whether He is leading you toward godly marriage that honors Him, rather than simply remaining as partners. Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, Hebrews 13:4.
Because you will be traveling together, we must gently and clearly address the matter of sexual purity. Sex before or outside of marriage is fornication and is sin before God, and we are called to flee sexual immorality, 1 Corinthians 6:18. This includes sharing a hotel room or living arrangements that would compromise purity or cause temptation, even while traveling internationally. We encourage you to make clear boundaries now, to honor God with your bodies, and to keep your courtship pure as you seek His will for a future marriage. If you have not already, we urge you to commit this area to the Lord and to seek accountability from mature believers.
We also pray for what you specifically asked, for more wisdom, humility, and patience. But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him, James 1:5. We ask God to pour out wisdom on you both for every decision, and to grow you in humility as you humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time, 1 Peter 5:6, and in patience as you trust His timing. Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight, Proverbs 3:5-6. We also pray that you will continue to cast your anxieties on Him, as we are told in nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God, Philippians 4:6.
We are thankful you prayed in Jesus name, for it is only by that name we have access to the Father. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6, and there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12.
We pray together now. Father in heaven, we thank You for this couple and for their grateful hearts. We ask for Your favor over their visa preparation and their application in ###. Grant them diligence, honesty, and clarity, and if it aligns with Your good plan, grant them approval to travel. If not, give them peace to trust Your better purpose. Grow them in wisdom, humility, and patience, keep their courtship pure and honoring to You, and lead them toward a Christ centered marriage if it is Your will. Draw them both closer to Jesus and help them to seek first Your kingdom. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior, Amen.
