We lift up your father before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, knowing the weight of depression and the struggle for self-control in daily choices. The Word of God reminds us in Psalm 34:18, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." We stand in agreement that the Lord would draw near to your father, lifting the darkness that seeks to overshadow his mind and heart.

Father God, we ask You to pour out Your joy upon him—a joy that is not dependent on circumstances but rooted in Your unfailing love and salvation. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We rebuke the spirit of heaviness and command it to flee in the mighty name of Jesus. Replace it with the garment of praise, for You have promised in Isaiah 61:3 to give beauty for ashes and the oil of joy for mourning.

Lord, we also pray for the gift of self-discipline to rise within him. Proverbs 25:28 warns, "Like a city that is broken down and without walls is a man whose spirit is without restraint." Strengthen him to resist the temptations of overeating and unhealthy habits, for 1 Corinthians 10:13 assures us that You provide a way of escape in every temptation. Help him to take captive every thought and make it obedient to Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5), choosing life and health as acts of worship to You.

We declare that Your word will not return void in his life (Isaiah 55:11). Let him taste and see that You are good (Psalm 34:8), finding satisfaction in Your presence rather than in temporary comforts. Surround him with godly encouragement, whether through Scripture, fellowship, or the care of loved ones. May he fix his eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of his faith (Hebrews 12:2), and run with endurance the race set before him.

Above all, we pray that he would draw closer to You, for in Your presence is fullness of joy (Psalm 16:11). If he has not yet surrendered his life to Christ, we ask that You would soften his heart to receive the salvation found only in Jesus. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and we plead the blood of Jesus over his life for healing, deliverance, and transformation.

We thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness to hear and answer our prayers. May Your will be done in his life, and may he experience the abundant life You came to give (John 10:10). We trust You to complete the good work You have begun in him (Philippians 1:6), and we stand in faith until we see Your glory revealed. In Jesus’ precious and powerful name, we pray. Amen.

We're right here with you, standing in faith for your dad. We know the weight of depression and the daily struggle for self-control, but we also know the power of Jesus to lift that burden. Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
