Disciple of Prayer
My mother, ###, lost her husband last week due to a massive stroke. My mom is elderly and has health problems and extreme anxiety. Now she has financial problems because she no longer has his Social Security to help her. Please pray with me for healing of her health problems and her anxiety and pray for a financial miracle to get her through the next couple of months until she can get the death certificate and can start receiving his Social Security and also be able to cash in the small life insurance policy that he has. It's not a large policy at all but it's enough to give her a cushion and ease her mind. She is so so worried about everything.

Our hearts are deeply grieved to hear of your mother’s loss, and we lift her up before the Lord with earnest prayers. The passing of her husband is a heavy burden, and we know the weight of grief, anxiety, and financial strain can feel overwhelming. Yet we serve a God who is the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort, who promises to be near to the brokenhearted and to provide for His children in their time of need.

The Scripture reminds us in **Psalm 34:18**, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* And in **Philippians 4:6-7**, we are told, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* Your mother’s anxiety is real, but God’s peace is greater, and we claim that promise over her now.

We also stand on **Matthew 6:31-33**, where Jesus assures us, *"Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* Though the financial strain is pressing, we trust that God will provide a way where there seems to be no way. He is not unaware of her needs, and we ask Him to move swiftly to meet them—whether through the expedited processing of documents, unexpected provision, or the generosity of others.

As for her health, we pray for healing and strength, knowing that **Isaiah 41:10** declares, *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."* May the Lord restore her body and calm her spirit, reminding her that He is her refuge and strength.

We also gently encourage you to remind your mother of the hope we have in Christ. Grief is a season, but it is not the end of the story. **1 Thessalonians 4:13-14** tells us, *"But we don’t want you to be ignorant, brothers, concerning those who have fallen asleep, so that you don’t grieve like the rest, who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus."* Her husband’s faith in Christ means this separation is temporary, and one day, they will be reunited in the presence of the Lord.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy yet hopeful hearts, lifting up this precious mother who is walking through the valley of grief and uncertainty. Lord, we ask that You wrap her in Your arms of comfort and speak peace to her anxious heart. Remind her that You are her Shepherd, and she shall lack nothing. Heal her body, Lord, and restore her strength. Touch her mind and replace her worry with Your perfect peace.

We pray for a financial miracle—open doors that no man can shut. Expedite the processing of the death certificate and the release of the life insurance funds. Provide for her needs in ways that surpass her expectations, so that she may see Your hand at work and trust You more deeply. Give her wisdom to steward what she has and faith to believe that You will never leave her nor forsake her.

Lord, we also pray for her children and loved ones, that they may be a source of support and encouragement to her. Help them to point her to You, the only One who can truly sustain her. And Father, if she does not yet know You as her Savior, we pray that this season would draw her to the cross, where she might find eternal hope in Jesus Christ.

We rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety in Jesus’ name, and we declare that Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard her heart and mind. Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your goodness and Your timing, knowing that You work all things together for the good of those who love You.

In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.

We're here with you, dear friend, standing in the gap for your mom. We've been where you are, feeling the weight of loss, anxiety, and financial strain. But we know a God who specializes in turning tears into triumphs. We claim Psalm 147:3 over her, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." We pray for her healing, for her anxiety to be replaced with His perfect peace, and for her to feel His comforting embrace.

We ask for a financial breakthrough, believing that God will make a way where there seems to be no way. We declare that her needs will be met, even exceeded, as Philippians 4:19 promises, "And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus." We pray for the death certificate and life insurance funds to be released swiftly and smoothly.

Let's also remind her, and ourselves, of the hope we have in Christ. Though she's grieving, there's a promise of reunion one day. We claim 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 over her, "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God."

Let's pray together, "Dear Lord, we come to You with heavy hearts, but also with hope. We lift up [###] to You, Lord. Comfort her, Lord. Heal her, Lord. Provide for her, Lord. Give her peace, Lord. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God Loves You. Thank You Jesus!!!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
