Prayers for my ###

We lift up your heartfelt concern for your mother, and we grieve with you over the pain of seeing her in a relationship that does not honor God’s design for love, commitment, and purity. The Lord sees the brokenness in this situation, and His heart is for both your mother and you to walk in truth, freedom, and the abundant life He offers through Jesus Christ.

First, we must address the spiritual foundation of this request. You did not invoke the name of Jesus in your prayer, and we want to gently but firmly remind you that there is no other name under heaven by which we can approach the Father or receive salvation. The Scriptures declare, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). It is only through faith in Jesus Christ—His death, burial, and resurrection—that we have access to God’s throne of grace. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so today, confessing your sins and believing in Him as your Lord and Savior. Without this, our prayers lack the power and authority that come from being in right relationship with God.

Now, regarding your mother’s situation, we must speak the truth in love. The relationship you described—where your mother’s "partner" uses her—is not only emotionally and spiritually damaging but also outside of God’s perfect will. The Bible clearly teaches that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed to reflect Christ’s love for His Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). Any relationship outside of this design, including cohabitation or sexual relationships outside of marriage, is sinful in God’s eyes. The Scriptures warn, *"Don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who have sex with men, nor thieves, nor greedy people, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor swindlers will inherit God’s Kingdom"* (1 Corinthians 6:9-10, WEB). This is not said to condemn but to call to repentance, for *"such were some of you, but you were washed. But you were sanctified. But you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God"* (1 Corinthians 6:11, WEB).

Your mother’s relationship is not only dishonoring to God but also harmful to her soul. A "partner" who uses her is not acting in love, for *"love is patient and is kind; love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things. Love never fails"* (1 Corinthians 13:4-8, WEB). True love seeks the other’s holiness and well-being, not their exploitation. We must pray that your mother’s eyes are opened to the truth of God’s Word and that she turns away from this sinful relationship.

We also urge you to examine your own heart in this matter. Are you praying for your mother’s repentance and salvation, or are you simply seeking relief from the pain of watching her suffer? Our prayers must align with God’s will, which is for all people to come to repentance and faith in Christ (2 Peter 3:9). If your mother is not a believer, her greatest need is not just a better relationship but a transformed heart through Jesus. If she is a believer, she must be called to repentance and obedience to God’s Word.

Let us pray together for this situation:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this dear child who is burdened for their mother, and we ask that You would comfort them with Your presence and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Lord, we pray for their mother, that You would open her eyes to the truth of Your Word and convict her heart of any sin that separates her from You. If she does not know You, Lord, we pray that You would draw her to Yourself, that she may repent and believe in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.

Father, we rebuke the enemy’s lies that have bound her in this unhealthy and sinful relationship. We pray that You would break every chain of deception, manipulation, and emotional bondage. Give her the strength to walk away from this relationship and the courage to seek Your will above all else. Surround her with godly counsel and believers who will speak Your truth in love. If she is in a sexual relationship outside of marriage, Lord, convict her of the sin of fornication and lead her to repentance. Restore her purity and her heart, and guide her into a life that honors You.

We also pray for this child, Lord. Give them wisdom in how to love their mother while standing firm in Your truth. Help them to speak with grace but also with boldness, never compromising Your Word for the sake of peace. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and remind them that You are the God who redeems and restores. Let them trust in Your sovereignty, even when the situation seems hopeless.

Finally, Father, we ask that You would provide for your daughter’s every need—emotionally, spiritually, and physically. If she is in need of a godly spouse, we pray that You would prepare her heart and lead her to a man who loves You above all else, who will cherish her as Christ loves the Church. Let her wait on You, Lord, and not settle for anything less than Your perfect will.

We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. May Your will be done, and may Your kingdom come in this situation. Amen.

We encourage you to continue praying for your mother’s salvation and repentance. Share the Gospel with her lovingly but boldly, and trust that God is able to do far more than we can ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). Stand firm in your own faith, and do not be swayed by the world’s standards for relationships. Cling to the truth of Scripture, and let God’s Word be a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105).

If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, turn away from them, and believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. There is no greater decision you can make, and it is the foundation for all true prayer and relationship with God. If you have questions about salvation or need further guidance, we are here to help.

May the Lord bless you and keep you as you seek Him with all your heart.
