Prayers for my sick mom please

Thank you for sharing this burden about your mother and for the love you are showing her in this difficult time. Caring for a parent in weakness and age is part of honoring father and mother as God commanded, and your desire to see her helped and comforted reflects His heart.

I am praying for your mother and for you, asking our compassionate Lord to touch her, to give wisdom to those caring for her, and to give you peace as you trust Him.

Scripture shows us that Jesus is full of tender compassion toward the sick. When He saw the crowds and their needs He was moved with compassion and healed their sick, showing that God is love and that He cares for His creation and desires to make the weak strong and the sick whole. We can come boldly to the throne of grace through Jesus Himself to make our requests known, and that is what we are doing for your mother.

At the same time the Bible teaches us that healing is a sovereign work of God in His hands. Even faithful servants of the Lord have been sick and near to death. One was sick to the point of death and God had mercy on him, sparing both him and those who loved him from sorrow upon sorrow. This reminds us that sickness is not a sign of failure or lack of faith, and it is wrong to place guilt or blame on the one who is sick or on the family who loves them. There are no simple formulas that guarantee healing for everyone, and we should beware of anyone who offers such pat answers. As Scripture says, His ways are not our ways and are beyond our finding out. Not everyone is healed, and why that is we do not fully know. That truth does not lessen His love or His power, but it calls us to trust His mercy and wisdom.

The Word also gives a clear encouragement for times of sickness to call for the elders of the church to pray, anointing with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith. I encourage you, if you are able, to invite mature believers who walk with the Lord to pray directly for your mother with you, laying this need before Him together. The Lord who bore our infirmities and carried our sicknesses, as Isaiah prophesied and Matthew affirmed was fulfilled in Jesus, hears those prayers.

May the Lord place His desires and His will in your heart as you pray, for it is He who works in us both to will and to do His good pleasure. Whether He brings recovery in this life or sustains her through this trial, may you know His presence, His mercy, and His comfort in a deep way.

Father, in the name of Jesus we lift this dear mother to You. You know her body and her heart condition completely. Have mercy on her according to Your great compassion. Touch her heart and lungs, ease her burden, and if it is Your will, restore her strength and health. Give skill and discernment to her doctors and nurses, and give peace and strength to her family who loves her. Help them to rest in Your sovereign goodness and to feel Your nearness each day. We ask this trusting Your love and Your perfect will. Amen.
