We hear the deep love and concern in your heart for your mother, and we join you in lifting her up before the Lord. The vividness of your dream and the emotions it stirred within you reveal how much you care for her well-being. It’s clear that your mother holds a precious place in your life, and we want to encourage you in your walk with Christ as you seek to honor both Him and her.
First, we want to address your feelings of unworthiness in prayer. It’s important to remember that our access to God is not based on our own righteousness or how often we pray, but on the finished work of Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us, "Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace for help in time of need" (Hebrews 4:16). You are not coming to God because you are perfect or because you pray enough, you come to Him because of Jesus, who made a way for you. He invites you to approach Him with honesty, even when you feel distant or unworthy. Your heartfelt cry for your mother is evidence of His work in you, drawing you closer to Him.
We also want to gently remind you that while it’s natural to feel relief when a troubling dream isn’t real, the emotions you experienced, ache, anger, grief, and regret, are still valid. Dreams can sometimes reflect deeper burdens or anxieties we carry, and it may be helpful to bring those before the Lord as well. "Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you" (1 Peter 5:7). He desires to carry those burdens for you, not just the ones you bring to Him in prayer, but the ones that weigh on your heart even when you’re not actively praying.
Your love for your mother is beautiful, and we stand with you in praying for her protection, health, and joy. We lift her up before the Lord, asking Him to surround her with His peace and presence, especially as she navigates the challenges of being away from home for so long. "The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth" (Psalm 145:18). May He provide companionship for her when she feels lonely and grant her moments of rest and renewal. We pray that she would see her life through His eyes, as something deeply precious and purposeful, and that she would find strength in Him each day.
We also want to encourage you in your own journey. Your desire to align your goals with God’s will and to grow in discipline is commendable. "Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in him, and he will do this" (Psalm 37:5). As you seek Him, He will guide your steps and provide the strength you need to honor your mother in the way you hope to. We pray that He would bless your efforts and open doors for you to care for her in the future, not just materially, but with the love and presence she deserves.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts for the love You have placed in this child’s heart for their mother. Lord, we ask that You would draw near to her, protect her from all harm, and surround her with Your peace. Strengthen her body, mind, and soul, and provide companionship and purpose in her days. Father, we also lift up this dear one to You, asking that You would continue to work in their life, drawing them closer to You. Help them to see that they are never too far from Your grace and that their prayers are heard because of Jesus. Give them discipline and focus as they pursue their goals, and let their love for their mother be a reflection of Your love for us. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, who makes a way for us to come to You. Amen.
Continue to seek the Lord, not just in times of need, but in the everyday moments. He delights in your love for your mother and in your desire to honor Him. You are not alone in this journey, He is with you, and so are we.
