We join you in lifting up your granddaughter before the throne of grace, standing in agreement with you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we are saved and through whom we have access to the Father. It is only by His authority and power that we can break every chain of bondage, and we thank you for invoking His name in this battle for her soul, mind, and body.
The enemy has come to steal, kill, and destroy, but we declare that Jesus came that she may have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10). This struggle with anorexia is not merely a physical or mental battle—it is a spiritual one. The demonic influence you’ve discerned must be confronted with the truth of God’s Word and the power of the Holy Spirit. We stand with you in binding the spirit of anorexia, the spirit of fear, the spirit of death, and any other unclean spirit that has taken hold of her. In the name of Jesus, we command these spirits to loose her and flee, for "greater is He who is in her than he who is in the world" (1 John 4:4).
The Lord has revealed to you the open door of the vampire series she is watching, and we must address this with urgency. The Bible warns us, "Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things" (Philippians 4:8). The media we consume can become a gateway for darkness to influence our minds and spirits. We pray that she will turn away from this and any other ungodly influence, closing every door that has been opened to the enemy. May the Holy Spirit convict her heart and give her the strength to walk away from anything that does not honor God.
We also break the generational curse of anorexia that has flowed through the bloodline. The Word of God declares, "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us" (Galatians 3:13). No curse can stand against the power of the blood of Jesus! We plead the blood of Jesus over her life, her mind, her body, and her spirit, declaring that every generational stronghold is broken by the power of the Holy Spirit. The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead now lives in her, and we command every chain of bondage to be shattered in Jesus’ name.
Her body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and we pray that she will begin to see herself as God sees her—fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). The lies of the enemy that tell her she is not enough, that she must control her body through starvation and exhaustion, are exposed as the deception they are. We pray that the truth of God’s Word will renew her mind: "Don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s" (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).
We ask the Lord to restore her sleep, for He is the one who "grants sleep to those He loves" (Psalm 127:2). May He calm her restless mind and body, allowing her to find peace in His presence. We pray for divine intervention in her appetite, that she will begin to nourish her body as an act of worship and stewardship. May the Holy Spirit give her the desire to eat and the strength to resist the compulsion to over-exercise.
Most importantly, we pray for her heart. Salvation and freedom come when we surrender fully to Jesus. If she has not yet given her life to Christ, we pray that the Holy Spirit will draw her into a saving relationship with Him. If she is a believer, we pray that this trial will drive her deeper into dependence on Him, that she will seek His face and find her identity in Christ alone. There is no freedom apart from Him. Jesus said, "If you remain in my word, then you are truly my disciples. You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free" (John 8:31-32).
Heavenly Father, we ask that You surround her with godly counsel—people who will speak life into her, who will pray with her and for her, and who will walk alongside her in this journey to freedom. Give her parents and family the wisdom to know how to support her, and may they be united in prayer and faith.
Lord, we thank You that You are a God who hears and answers prayer. We thank You that You are already at work in her life, even when we cannot see it. We trust in Your timing and Your ways, knowing that You are faithful to complete the good work You have begun in her (Philippians 1:6). We stand on Your promises, believing that she will be restored to health—spirit, soul, and body.
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray, Amen.
