Prayers for my friend

My friend has heart failure and has been falling randomly and injuring herself. The doctors can’t figure out why this is happening. It has been going on for the last 4 years. Please pray that God would reveal the cause of the falls and cure her from the heart failure and falls and other side effects of her condition. She has come to know Him through this challenge, reconciled with her dad from whom she was estranged after his infidelity against her mom, and set better boundaries with other members of her family who have been cruel to her. Yet, she is feeling defeated and uncertain about her future. May the Lighr of Jesus shine through her and radically transform her body, mind, and soul. May she share her testimony with those who need to hear it to believe in the power of God through faithful prayer. Thank you.

We lift up your dear friend with heavy hearts, standing in the gap for her before the throne of grace. Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Great Physician, who heals all our diseases and redeems our lives from destruction (Psalm 103:2-4). Lord, we ask that You would reveal the hidden cause of these falls that have plagued her for four long years. Your Word declares that by Your stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we claim that promise over her life. We pray for divine insight for her doctors, that You would guide their minds and hands to uncover what medical science has not yet found.

Heavenly Father, we also pray for Your healing touch upon her heart. Strengthen it, Lord, according to Your perfect will. You are the One who knits us together in our mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13), and You know every fiber of her being. We ask that You restore her body completely, that she may walk in the fullness of health You intend for her. Give her strength in her moments of weakness and peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) as she waits on You.

We rejoice in the work You have already done in her life, how You have drawn her closer to Yourself through this trial, mended her relationship with her father, and given her the courage to set godly boundaries. Lord, we pray that You would lift the weight of defeat from her shoulders. Remind her that You have not given her a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Though the road has been long and weary, You are her ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Fill her with hope for the future, for You have plans for her, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give her a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).

May the light of Jesus Christ shine brightly through her, Lord. Use her testimony to draw others to You, that they may see Your faithfulness and believe in Your power. Let her life be a living testament to Your grace, mercy, and healing. We declare that she is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves her (Romans 8:37), and we stand on Your promise that all things work together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28).

Father, we rebuke the spirit of discouragement and despair that seeks to steal her joy and dim her light. We command it to flee in the name of Jesus Christ, for He has overcome the world (John 16:33). Fill her with Your Holy Spirit, that she may walk in victory, even in the midst of this trial. Strengthen her faith, Lord, and let her trust in You grow deeper each day.

We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your perfect timing and Your unfailing love. May Your will be done in her life, and may she continue to grow in the knowledge and love of You. In the precious name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We are holding your friend in prayer with you, and you as you walk beside her. Four years of heart failure and random falls that leave her injured, with no clear answers from her doctors, is a long and weary road. It makes sense she would feel defeated and uncertain about the future, even while God has been so at work in her life.

What you shared about her coming to know Him through this, being reconciled with her dad after his infidelity and that long estrangement, and learning to set better boundaries with family members who have been cruel, is remarkable. Those are hard, brave steps and evidence of His grace already moving. At the same time, living with a chronic, unresolved condition can slowly change how a person sees herself and what feels possible, leaving her feeling fragile and worn down and making it harder to keep engaging in daily life and care. That does not mean her faith has failed, only that she is tired and needs steady, longer term support.

One way you can help in the weeks ahead is to be that consistent presence after the initial crisis concern fades. If she is open to it, offer to go with her to appointments and help keep a simple note of when falls happen and what was happening just before, to give her doctors a clearer picture over time, and help her stay connected to church and a small circle so isolation does not settle in. We encourage her to keep following closely with her medical team as you both pray for wisdom for them.

Father, we lift this dear sister to You in Jesus' name. Give her doctors wisdom to discern the cause of these falls, bring healing to her heart and body according to Your will, and lift the heaviness she carries. Let the light of Jesus shine in her body, mind and soul, remind her she is held and not forgotten, and give her strength for each day and hope to share the story You are writing in her life. Amen.

We have heard your burden for your friend and we join you in carrying it to the throne of grace, where the great Physician still reigns. Four years of heart failure and of sudden falls which no physician can explain is a sore and wearying affliction, and we do not wonder that she feels defeated and uncertain about her future. Yet we see the hand of the Lord already in this trial, for you tell us she has come to know Him through it, and has been reconciled to her father after his unfaithfulness, and has learned to set needful boundaries where there was cruelty. This is no small mercy, for there is a heart which should be tender, by which we perceive the Presence of God and feel His operations, and blessed are those who are given such a heart to perceive Him.

We will pray that the Lord will be pleased to reveal to those who care for her the hidden cause of these falls and injuries, and that He will lay His healing hand upon her failing heart and upon all the side effects which have followed. We remember that it is written, He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds, and that the leaves of the tree of life were for the healing of the nations. The least thing about Christ is healing. A word from Him, coming home to the heart as His own, brings healing to head and heart, to conscience and affection, and can change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. None can say to the healing flood of His love, thus far and no further, for the utmost length of human sickness can be reached by this Divine Healer.

We pray also for her soul, that the Light of Jesus would shine more and more within her and transform her body, mind and soul, and keep her from saying there is no hope. You are wearied in the length of your way, yet the Lord would not have you say there is no hope, for with Him there is hope for the wearied and the humbled. Though your prayers may seem to wait long for an answer, faint not, but continue to pray. Men may say that cries cannot move the heart of God, but let not your feelings fly in the teeth of His promises. He has heard you already, and in His own time and wisdom He will reply.

May the Lord grant her a good hope of eternal life through believing in Jesus Christ, and establish her in that hope so that she is not moved from it. May He lift her eyes from present infirmity to the future He has prepared for those who love Him, and may He make her testimony a healing leaf to others, that those who hear what faithful prayer has wrought may be drawn to believe in the power of God. We ask that He will sustain her mind when it is cast down, guard her from despair, and give her grace to rest at the foot of the Cross where joy is maintained and increased.

We commend her to Him who pardons and heals, who humbles that He may exalt, and who delights to heal the heart broken on account of sin and sorrow. May He grant wisdom to her physicians, strength to her body, peace to her mind, and a settled confidence that while Jehovah lives the mourner need not despair. Amen.

May the Lord reveal the cause of these falls and heal her heart failure, for He is the Great Physician who heals all diseases (Psalm 103:3). May she find strength in her weakness, for His grace is sufficient and His power is made perfect in her (2 Corinthians 12:9). Though she feels defeated, may she not lose heart, for He is renewing her inwardly day by day (2 Corinthians 4:16). May the light of Jesus shine through her (John 8:12), transforming her body, mind, and soul, and may her testimony bring others to faith (Revelation 12:11). In Jesus' name, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
