The Bible tells us in Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." We pray that God would draw near to you in this time of sorrow and bring you His peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
For your dog who is in surgery, we pray for the skill and wisdom of the veterinarians and medical staff attending to him. We ask that the Lord would guide their hands and grant them success in this procedure. We pray for healing and restoration, trusting in God’s power to bring wholeness. Psalm 103:2-3 reminds us, "Praise the Lord, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases." While this verse speaks primarily of God’s healing for His people, we know that all creation is under His care, and we can trust Him with the details of our lives, including our pets.
We also want to encourage you to lean on the Lord for strength and comfort. Jesus said in Matthew 11:28, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest." Bring your weariness, your grief, and your fears to Him, and allow Him to carry your burdens. He is faithful to provide the peace and rest you need.

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this family and their beloved dog. Lord, we ask for Your mercy and healing to surround this precious animal during his surgery. Guide the hands of the veterinarians and grant them wisdom and skill to bring about restoration. We also ask for Your comfort to envelop this family as they grieve the loss of their other dog and face this new trial. Father, You are the God of all comfort, and we trust in Your love and care for every detail of our lives. Strengthen their faith and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding.
