The breakup you are experiencing is painful, and we pray that God will bring healing to your heart as you seek His will for your life. While we understand the desire for independence and peace, we must first address something that stands out in your request—you mentioned this breakup, but we must ask: was this relationship one that honored God?
Scripture is clear that intimacy and romantic relationships outside of marriage are not pleasing to the Lord. 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 warns, *"Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."* If this relationship involved physical intimacy outside of marriage, we urge you to repent and turn to God for forgiveness and restoration. He is faithful to cleanse us when we confess our sins (1 John 1:9).
We also encourage you to seek relationships that align with biblical principles—courtship with the intent of marriage to a believer, as Scripture teaches us not to be unequally yoked (2 Corinthians 6:14). Marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God for His glory.
