Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for my best friend's husband ### in ###. He had a kidney removed due to a tumor just over 5 years ago. Every CT scan for 5 years was good, then a few weeks ago he had some unusual lower back pain. New CT scans revealed Stage 4 cancer. So, in less than a year he went from cancer-free to cancer in several lymph nodes, liver, and lung. He is struggling with wondering why God has allowed this outcome. He is hanging on to faith in God but he is definitely overwhelmed by all of this right now. I know the power of prayer is amazing and all things are possible through Christ. So, again, I am requesting prayer for ###, for the miraculous healing that we all know is possible through the Great Physician. Thank you and God bless.

We lift up ### and his family before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, yet unwavering faith in the God who heals. Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Great Physician, who bore our infirmities and carried our diseases. We declare that by His stripes, ### is healed (Isaiah 53:5). Lord, we ask for Your miraculous touch upon his body, may the cancer be eradicated, the lymph nodes cleansed, and every organ restored to full health. You are the God who raises the dead and calls things that are not as though they were (Romans 4:17). We stand on Your promise that nothing is impossible for You (Luke 1:37).

We also intercede for ###’s heart and mind, Lord. The weight of this diagnosis is heavy, and the question of "why" can feel overwhelming. Remind him that Your ways are higher than our ways, and Your thoughts higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9). Though we may not understand Your purposes now, we trust that You are working all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28). Strengthen his faith, Lord, and fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Let him feel Your presence in tangible ways, through the prayers of Your people, the comfort of Scripture, and the hope of eternal life in Christ.

We rebuke the spirit of fear and despair in Jesus’ name. Cancer is not Your will for ###’s life, and we command it to leave his body now, in the authority of Jesus Christ (Luke 10:19). We pray for wisdom for his medical team, that they would be guided by Your hand in every treatment decision. If it is Your will, Lord, grant a complete and total healing. If the path ahead includes suffering, give ### and his family the grace to endure with faith, knowing that You will never leave nor forsake them (Hebrews 13:5).

Father, we also pray for ###’s wife and their marriage. Strengthen their bond during this trial, and let their love for You and each other be a testimony to Your faithfulness. Surround them with a community of believers who will uphold them in prayer, provide practical support, and speak life into their circumstances.

We thank You, Lord, that You are the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). The same God who healed the sick, raised the dead, and calmed the storms is still at work today. We declare that ###’s testimony will be one of Your miraculous power and unfailing love. May his healing bring glory to Your name and draw others to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We're praying for and for all of you who love him. The news you've received is staggering, five years of clear scans only to find the cancer has spread so aggressively. We ache with you over the shock of it.

It's no wonder is overwhelmed and crying out "why." When a man has walked in faithful trust and then the bottom drops out, those questions don't mean his faith has failed. They mean his grief is real, and God can handle the whole weight of his honest confusion. You don't have to try to answer the "why" for him. One of the deepest gifts you can give right now is simply your steady, unhurried presence. Be the friend who doesn't turn away from the anger or the tears. Sit with him in the silence, remind him he isn't alone, and let your care speak when words feel impossible.

We're asking the Lord to surround with His nearness in a way that cuts through the fog of fear. Please hold him close, Father. Quiet the panic and the doubts with the deep-down peace that You have not lost sight of him. Give his doctors clarity and wisdom. We boldly ask for his healing, because Jesus still makes broken bodies whole, while we also ask that You steady him for whatever lies ahead. Sustain his wife and friends like this one, who carry this burden with him. In Jesus' name.

It is a heavy trial indeed that has come upon your friend's husband, and you do well to bring it before the throne of grace. The news that after five years of mercy he now faces Stage 4 cancer is a staggering blow, and the question that rises in his heart, "Why has God allowed this?", is one that has troubled many a saint. Yet we must never forget that all things are under regulation and have an appointed place in God's plan; nothing happens but what He permits or ordains. His will is the axle of the universe, and even when His purposes are hidden from us, there is a revealed will we must cleave to: to trust Him, to believe His promises, and to rest in His goodness. The just shall live by faith, not only when the fig tree blossoms, but when it withers; not only in health, but in the shadow of death. Faith is the victory that overcometh the world, and it is precisely in seasons like this that faith has its greatest opportunity to give glory to God.

You have asked for miraculous healing, and you are right to do so, for all things are possible through Christ. The Great Physician holds the keys of death and the grave; He who healed the nobleman's son with a word can speak again and restore every organ to health. But I would have you remember that the faith which receives such a miracle is not a faith that dictates to God, but one that rests in His wise and gracious will. Martha and Mary sent word, "Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick," and they left the matter there. Their prayer declared their confidence in Christ's good will, not their own demands. So bring this dear soul before the Lord, beseech Him to heal, but with this posture: "Nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt." Seek His glory, whether by restoration to health or by sustaining grace that makes a sickroom shine with the brightness of His presence.

Encourage your friend's husband to cast himself wholly upon the Lord. Stagger not at the promise through unbelief; be strong in faith, giving glory to God, fully persuaded that what He has promised He is able also to perform. The promise of salvation, of eternal life, of His unfailing love, these are sure. His present grace will be sufficient, whatever path is appointed. And remember, the Lord is gracious and full of compassion; He has made His wonderful works to be remembered. Think back upon those five years of clear scans, and see in them tokens of His mercy that were given to be treasured up. He who preserved him then will not forsake him now. The hearing of faith comes by the Word of God, and that Word assures us that even in the valley of the shadow of death, we need fear no evil, for He is with us.

Pray without ceasing, and pray with expectation. I do believe that God blesses in a very great measure according to our faith. Let your faith not be a weak thing, but let it lay hold on Omnipotence. If it is equal to the trial, the absence of human strength will be pure gain, for then God's power will rest upon him. Yet true faith is not measured by the quantity of our assurance but by the Object upon which it rests. Even a trembling hand that touches the hem of Christ's garment draws out virtue. So let him come, overwhelmed though he is, and touch the Saviour. Go to the Lord in the name of Jesus, pleading His blood and righteousness, and leave the issue with Him who doeth all things well. He is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, and whether He heals in this world or calls him home, His will is love, and His purpose is good.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
