We join with you in bringing this burden before the Lord and we thank you for sharing it so honestly with us. We hear how heavy this has become for you, feeling taken advantage of after showing such consistent kindness in driving your co worker each day, and at the same time feeling upset and uncertain about the scratches on your vehicle and what you believe you saw. We understand wanting to be a good steward of what God has blessed you with while also wanting to walk in grace and forgiveness and not live with tension every morning.
The Lord sees all that is done in secret and He is your protector and defender. Psalm 121:7-8 says Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forevermore. And Psalm 34:7 says Yahweh's angel encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them. We also know He calls us to guard our hearts and to not let anger give way to sin. Ephesians 4:26 says Be angry, and don't sin. Don't let the sun go down on your wrath. Hebrews 12:15 warns us to watch lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you. At the same time Scripture cautions us about bearing witness without certainty. Exodus 20:16 says You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor, and 1 John 4:1 tells us to test the spirits to see whether they are of God. Even when our spirit feels strongly, we must be careful not to accuse without clear proof, for God desires truth and love to work together.
We also see your desire to forgive and to walk with grace, which pleases the Lord. Ephesians 4:32 says And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. Colossians 3:13 also calls us to bear with one another and forgive as the Lord forgave us. Forgiveness does not mean we ignore wisdom or boundaries, but that we release bitterness to God and choose to respond with the love of Christ.
We lift you up together in prayer.
Father in heaven, we come before You together in the name of Jesus Christ, thanking You that we have access to Your throne of grace through Him alone. We thank You for this dear one who has shown generosity and faithfulness in helping a co worker day after day. Lord You see the scratches on this vehicle and You know the truth about what has happened, for Hebrews 4:13 says there is no creature that is hidden from your sight, but all things are naked and laid open before the eyes of him to whom we must give an account. We ask for Your divine protection over this vehicle and over this daily commute, and over the heart of the one who is driving. Grant peace where there is now discomfort and anxiety. Give wisdom generously as James 1:5 promises, that if any of us lacks wisdom we may ask of You who gives liberally and without reproach. Show what to do about the rides, whether to continue, to pause, or to set a new boundary, and how to address the concern with truth and grace. Help to speak the truth in love as Ephesians 4:15 teaches, perhaps by going privately and gently as Matthew 18:15 instructs, not with accusation but with honest questions and seeking understanding. Guard this heart from bitterness and help to forgive fully, even while acting wisely as a steward of what You have provided, for Luke 16:10 reminds us that one who is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much. Keep this relationship as far as it depends on this one at peace, for Romans 12:18 says If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. We pray also for the co worker, that You would work in her heart and draw her to honesty and kindness, and that Your love would be evident to both. We ask You to remove any fear or awkwardness and to replace it with Your calm and discernment. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to seek the Lord for clear next steps with both grace and wisdom. It is right to care for what God has entrusted to you and it is also right to protect your peace. You might prayerfully consider practical ways to gain clarity without accusation, such as parking where you can see the vehicle, or using a dash camera that records while parked if that is lawful where you live, so that you are not left in uncertainty. You might also have a gentle, private conversation, not starting with you did this, but sharing what you have noticed and how much you value both the car and the relationship, and asking if she has noticed anything. A soft answer often turns away wrath as Proverbs 15:1 says. If the unease continues, it is not unkind to set a loving boundary and let her know you need to take a break from providing rides daily. Your kindness is a beautiful offering to the Lord as Hebrews 13:16 says to not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased, but it should not come at the cost of ongoing anxiety or the enabling of wrongdoing. We thank God that you have already called on the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we are saved and have peace with God, as Acts 4:12 declares there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved, and John 14:6 reminds us Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Keep abiding in Him, keep forgiving as you have been forgiven, and trust Him to be your defender and your guide each morning you set out.
