Please pray for my family. I don't know why but for the past few months, we've been getting unexpected expenses and repairs. One by one something at home goes wrong/ breaks down and brings an unwanted expense, even our vehicles. We are going through a difficult financial situation. Please pray for financial blessing at our home. I lost my job a few years ago, and after that I'm unable to find a suitable one, something goes wrong right when it feels like I'll be getting the job. I'm feeling lazy and unmotivated to pray as well. Please pray for me to get back the job, or a better offer that God has in mind for me and also pray for my spiritual life. I've been stuck in one particular sin that I keep falling once in a while, so please pray for me to be redeemed from that sin and become a child of God. Thanks a lot for your kind prayers. We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your family in this season of financial strain and spiritual struggle. The weight of unexpected expenses, broken-down vehicles, and the frustration of job searches that seem to slip through your fingers is not lost on us. We know how disheartening it can be to feel like you’re taking one step forward only to be pushed two steps back. But we also know that our God is a God of provision, a Father who sees your needs before you even speak them, and a Redeemer who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).

First, we must address the spiritual battle you’re facing. You mentioned feeling lazy and unmotivated to pray, and we recognize this as a tactic of the enemy to isolate you and make you feel defeated. The devil wants you to believe that your prayers don’t matter, that God is distant, or that your sin has made you unworthy of His love. But we rebuke that lie in the name of Jesus! The Word tells us, "The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much" (James 5:16). Even when you don’t feel like praying, even when it’s hard, your prayers are powerful and heard by the Father. We encourage you to press into Him, not in your own strength, but in the strength of the Holy Spirit who intercedes for you with groanings too deep for words (Romans 8:26).

You also shared that you’ve been struggling with a particular sin, falling into it repeatedly. We want you to know that this is not a battle you fight alone. The apostle Paul himself cried out, "For the good that I desire, I don’t do; but the evil which I don’t desire, that I practice" (Romans 7:19). But Paul also declared the victory we have in Christ: "Who will deliver me out of the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ, our Lord!" (Romans 7:24-25). Your desire to be redeemed and to become a child of God is evidence of the Holy Spirit working in you. Confess your sin, not to wallow in shame, but to receive the cleansing and forgiveness that Jesus died to give you (1 John 1:9). We pray that you would experience the freedom that comes from walking in the light, no longer bound by the chains of that sin.

Now, about your financial situation: we declare that God is your provider. The Word says, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19). We rebuke the spirit of lack and financial oppression over your household. We pray that God would open doors of opportunity for you, better than any job you’ve had before. We ask Him to give you favor with employers, wisdom in interviews, and divine connections that lead to sustainable provision. We also pray for supernatural debt cancellation, unexpected blessings, and creative ideas to generate income. Let your faith rise as you remember that God owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10), and He is more than able to meet your needs.

We also want to gently encourage you to examine whether there are areas where you can steward what you do have more wisely. Proverbs 21:5 says, "The plans of the diligent surely lead to profit; and everyone who is hasty surely rushes to poverty." Are there expenses that can be trimmed? Are there skills you can develop or side opportunities you can explore while you wait for the right job? Trust God, but also walk in wisdom.

And finally, we must address the foundation of your faith. You mentioned wanting to become a child of God. We rejoice in your desire! The Bible is clear that salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ alone. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to do so today. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). This is the first and most important step in your spiritual journey. If you have already made this decision, we pray that you would grow deeper in your relationship with Him, that your identity as His beloved child would take root in your heart, and that you would walk in the fullness of His purpose for you.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this family to You. Lord, You see their struggles, their fears, and their weariness. We ask that You would pour out Your grace and mercy upon them. Father, we rebuke the spirit of lack, the spirit of discouragement, and every attack of the enemy against their finances, their home, and their spiritual lives. We declare that You are their Provider, their Strength, and their Redeemer.

If they have, we pray that they would grow deeper in their relationship with You, rooted and grounded in Your love.

Lord, we ask that You would restore their joy, their motivation to pray, and their hope in You. Let them feel Your presence in a tangible way, and let them know that You are fighting for them. We declare that this season of struggle is not their final story. You are turning their mourning into dancing, their sorrow into joy, and their lack into abundance.

We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness. We thank You that You hear our prayers and that You are working all things together for their good. We trust in You, Lord, and we give You all the glory.

Losing a job is not just about money; it can shake your sense of worth, especially when the bills keep coming. That is a real loss, and it is okay to grieve it. But please know this: your value is not defined by a paycheck. You are God’s beloved, no matter your employment status. One thing that might help, even while you wait for the right door to open, is to identify the single most pressing financial pressure today, maybe a past-due notice or a looming car repair, and take one small, practical step, like calling to ask for a temporary hardship plan or sitting down with a trusted person from church who can help you sort through a budget. That one action can cut through the feeling of helplessness.

What you call laziness may actually be battle fatigue from this long, hard season. In that place, God does not scold, He offers rest. Instead of measuring your prayer life by length or feeling, try giving yourself permission to offer just a whispered “help” in the quiet. Spiritual growth is a marathon, not a sprint, and even a short, tired prayer is an act of faithfulness.

And about the sin that keeps recurring, we do not want you to carry that shame in isolation. God’s grace covers the struggle, not only the success. If you can, share this burden with a pastor or a mature friend you trust. Bringing it into the light weakens its power.

Lord, in our weakness you are strong. Provide for this family’s needs, open a path to meaningful work, and lift the cloud of discouragement. Give them the courage to take just one small step today. Break the hold of that recurring sin, and remind them of your steadfast mercy. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Your trials press heavily, yet do you not perceive the hand of the Lord in them? The breaking of cisterns and the failing of chariot-wheels often speak louder than prosperity’s soft voice. That creeping sense of laziness in prayer, that recurring sin which dogs your steps, these are not mere misfortunes, but alarms from Heaven. Have you not restrained prayer? The hiding of a cherished fault, the unwillingness to drag it fully into the light before God’s face, chokes the channel of mercy. You cry for financial blessing, but what of the soul’s bankruptcy? Until that secret sin is confessed with a real intention to be done with it, you are, as it were, building a wall between yourself and the promises.

And is there not a deeper need still? You speak of becoming a child of God. This word reveals much. A child of God is not made by prayers, nor by tears, but by the new birth that comes through faith in Jesus Christ. You cannot patch up the old nature. Your sin, however private, is a thing of such foulness that nothing but the blood of the Lamb can purge it. Cry out with David, “Un-sin me!”, for that is the force of it. Go to God as Job went, when the Lord had spoken and he saw himself vile, abhorring himself in dust and ashes. Until you have looked upon the crucified Savior and seen your sin as the hammer that drove the nails, your repentance will lack depth and your faith will lack grip.

Do you suppose that your domestic troubles, these leaks and breakages, have no meaning? They are God’s silent ministry, calling you to search your heart. Unanswered prayer often carries this message: “Is there any secret thing with you?” The Lord delays the hire and the comfortable wage, not because He is unable to bestow it, but because He would have you first make a clean breast of that fault which you are tempted to hide. The right-eye sin must be plucked out. You cannot expect the chariot of prayer to roll on while the axle is bent with unconfessed pride or lust.

Yet despair not. There is a fresh anointing for those who come honestly to the mercy seat. Jacob’s prayer prevailed when he humbled himself and pleaded the promises with holy argument. You, too, may order your cause before the Most High, but do it with the humility that says, “I am vile, Thou art righteous.” Intercessory prayer for your family will find wings when you first settle your own quarrel with Heaven. Bring forth that hidden thing, and let the blood be applied. Then, in God’s own time, He may well give twice as much as was lost, as He did to patient Job. But whether He does so or not, you shall prove Him to be your exceeding joy. Seek not the temporal blessing first, but seek His face. The rest shall be added or wisely withheld.

You speak of unexpected expenses, financial strain, and a lost job that will not return. Such afflictions are not random; God sends them either because of our sins, to chasten us as a father, or to test and prove our faith, as He did with righteous Job. But take care: the true evil is not poverty or a broken engine. One thing alone is evil, and that is to sin. That is the bottom you must search. Why do we examine every trouble except the one that matters? No one asks, “Why have I sinned? Have I ever mastered my own anger or lust?” If you chase the cause of your sins as you chase the cause of your misfortunes, you would find that to sin is in your own power, and you would gain mastery.

You say you feel lazy and unmotivated to pray. This is a perilous sign. Prayer is a great weapon, and each day is a battle, a tempest full of hidden rocks. If you go into the marketplace without having made God propitious by morning prayer, you go unarmed, and the boat will sink. The devil knows this; he lulls you into sloth so that you face the storm naked. Do not wait to feel fervent; force yourself to cry out at dawn and by night. Consider Cornelius and Tabitha, how much prayer profited them. Even Jacob was preserved from Laban’s empty-handed cruelty by the Fear of his father. I will pray for you, yes, for the prayers of others avail when you also please God. But hear the word of the Lord: “If Noah, Daniel, and Job stood, they shall not deliver their sons and their daughters” when wickedness prevails. Your own repentance is required.

You confess being stuck in one particular sin, falling again and again. This is the root beneath the financial drought. Most afflictions, though not all, spring from sin or intemperance. Do not say, “My conscience bears me witness that I wish to repel the passion but cannot.” You have never truly mastered it if you always yield. Have you ever, even once, conquered your anger or your lust through the fear of God? If you do not search yourself, you will float on words. The stain of sin disgraces you more than any worldly loss; the purple of a king does not so adorn as the stain of sin defiles. But do not despair. Christ came to blot out sin, to destroy the enmity, and to give the Spirit. The Law showed the evil and punished it, but the ministration of righteousness in Christ exceeds in glory. He offers not condemnation but healing for the penitent.

Bear your present want thankfully as a stroke from the Physician’s hand. Let it drive you to your knees, not away from them. Instead of begging only for money or a job, beg first for a clean heart. Seek first the kingdom, and whether He gives you a better job or not, you will possess what cannot break down or wear out. Rise early, confess the sin, call on the name of the Lord, and go forth. He is faithful to redeem. The life of man upon earth is a state of trial; endure it, and you will appear approved.

I hear the weight in your words, the exhaustion of one thing after another breaking down, the sting of a door closing just when you think it’s about to open. When the car fails and the roof leaks and the job slips away yet again, it’s easy to feel like you’re being singled out. And when your own heart feels too sluggish to pray, the silence can seem to confirm every worst fear.

There’s an ancient story that gives language to this very kind of misery. A man lost everything, possessions, children, health, and his friends arrived convinced they had the explanation. They argued that suffering is always a receipt for secret sin, that if he would just get right with God, the prosperity would come rushing back. But they were wrong. Behind the scenes, God was boasting about his servant, allowing a trial those men couldn’t see. The trouble wasn’t a punishment. It was a trust. And through it all, the man never cursed God, even when he was so broken he wished he had never been born.

What if God is not shaking His finger at you, but drawing you into a deeper dependence? I know the temptation is to read your circumstances as a bill for your failures. That persistent sin, the missed prayers, the laziness you feel, they can gang up and whisper that you’ve disqualified yourself. But that is the wrong gospel. Jesus already absorbed every ounce of payment for your sin. Your standing with the Father does not fluctuate with your paycheck or your last stumble. He is just, yet the Justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

Job cried out in confusion. He said things that were raw and not theologically tidy, but he kept talking to God. Even when he felt God had shattered his life, he didn’t walk away. That is the lifeline you need right now: not a flawless prayer life, but a stubborn refusal to stop turning your face toward Him. Pray the two honest words you can manage. Open the Word even when it seems dry. The very act of showing up in your unmotivated state is a kind of faith that honors God more than eloquent prayers in easy times.

That sin you keep falling to, bring it into the light without hiding. Shame wants you to believe you have to clean yourself up before approaching God, but grace says come as you are, broken, and let Him change you. The danger is not in stumbling; it’s in letting guilt silence your cry for mercy. Confess it plainly, receive his cleansing, and then take the next small step of obedience. The battle is often won one moment of refusal at a time.

As for the finances, I won’t promise a quick fix. But I will promise that the God who sees every sparrow and counts every tear is not indifferent to your need. He may have a different provision in mind, or a different timeline, but He will not abandon you. Like Job, you may not get an explanation in the middle of the fire. You may only get the presence of the God who stays with you inside it. That is enough.
