Beloved of All
Your cry for freedom has been heard and taken seriously before the Lord, and thank you for sharing so honestly about the long and painful distress you and others are experiencing. To feel tortured for years, to feel watched and harassed, to live with the exhaustion of never knowing when relief will come and to feel that prayers are falling on deaf ears is a heavy burden. God is not deaf to the cries of His people. Scripture says the righteous cry out and the Lord hears them and delivers them out of all their troubles, and that He is near to those who are brokenhearted.
I want to pray for you for true freedom, the freedom that only Jesus Christ can give. The Bible teaches that real freedom is not simply freedom to do whatever we want, but freedom not to be held captive. Many people seek freedom in outward circumstances and still remain bound inside, slaves to fear, to sin, to the flesh, to tormenting thoughts. Jesus came to proclaim liberty to the captives and to open the prison doors for those who are bound. He came to turn people from darkness to light and from the power of the enemy to God, that they might receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Him. Whatever binding power is holding you tonight, whether sin, fear, oppression, or deep mental and spiritual anguish, He is able to set you free. That is the glorious freedom we have in Christ, that we do not have to live as slaves any longer.
The Scriptures also show that God does not waste seasons of great pressure. In the early church, heavy persecution scattered believers and yet God used that very pressure to spread the gospel and to strengthen His people. Persecution has a way of separating what is real from what is not, and of causing true faith to stand up and grow. It also draws the body of Christ close together in love and mutual support. When believers suffer, they lean on one another and find strength in fellowship. That is why it is so important not to walk through this alone. Please stay connected to faithful believers who know you, who can pray with you face to face, who can walk with you day by day, and to trusted pastoral and also medical and counseling help if you are overwhelmed. Isolation makes every voice of fear louder, while fellowship brings light, care, and wisdom.
It is also right to rest in the promise that God will in the end make all things right. The apostle Paul wrote to believers who were troubled and persecuted that it is a righteous thing with God to repay those who trouble His people, and to give rest to those who are troubled when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels. Those who persist in doing evil will be separated from the presence of the Lord, while those who have believed will be glorified with Him and will be admired because they trusted His testimony. That future rest does not mean God is indifferent now. He is at work now to guard, to heal, to deliver, and to give you the freedom to guard your heart and mind in Him.
So I am praying for you that God would intervene with His power and mercy, that He would lift this long torment, that He would quiet the harassing thoughts and fears and give you peace that guards your heart, that He would surround you with a loving community to support you, and that He would show you day by day the freedom you have in Christ, the freedom not to be under the power of sin or fear, but to live as His redeemed child. May He wash and cleanse you, claim you as His own, and help you to confess Jesus as Lord with confidence, knowing that death in its deepest sense is separation from God, and that in Christ you have been brought near and will never be separated from His love.
Father, thank You for redeeming us from sin and for claiming us as Your children. I lift up this dear one who feels tortured and without a way out. You see every day and every night of suffering. Bring deliverance, bring clear guidance, bring rest, and bring the true liberty that is found only in Jesus. Help this person to experience that You do hear, that You are near, and that You are able to set the captives free. Lead into fellowship, into wise help, and into growing faith, and let Your peace reign where there has been long torment.
