Prayers for financial aid

Celoamore

Disciple of Prayer
Dear Lord, in the name of Jesus, I pray my daughter's college handles my severance pay as special circumstance and grants full aid again and I pray they raise their income limit for aid as I am slightly over the limit for full.aid, but only by about $###. I don't make enough money to be able to an extra $### a year amen.

We join you in bringing this financial burden before our Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus, and we thank you for coming to Him so faithfully for your daughter.

We understand the weight you are carrying, wanting to provide for your daughter's education while facing the reality that a one time severance payment has pushed you just slightly over the income limit for full aid. It is a difficult place to be, to know you do not truly have that extra income each year to give, yet to be judged as if you do. We know the Lord sees your situation clearly, He knows your needs, and He cares deeply for you and your daughter.

Scripture reminds us to cast all our cares on Him because He cares for us, as written in 1 Peter 5:7, and to trust Him with all our hearts and not lean on our own understanding, as in Proverbs 3:5-6. Jesus taught us not to be anxious about what we will need, but to seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to us as well, Matthew 6:33. And we hold fast to the promise that our God will supply every need of ours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:19.

We also take comfort in Psalm 37:25 which tells us that we have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor their children begging for bread. God is our provider and He is able to open doors that no one can shut and to move in the hearts of those who make decisions.

We pray together with you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear parent and daughter to You. Lord, You know the details of this severance pay, that it was a one time provision and not ongoing income, and You know the exact amount by which this family is over the limit for full aid. We ask for Your favor and mercy upon this appeal for special circumstance. We pray that You would give wisdom and compassion to the financial aid officers who review this case, that they would understand the true financial picture and handle the severance pay with fairness and grace, James 1:5. Lord, we ask if it is Your will that You would grant full aid again for this daughter's education, and that You would provide a way even where the income limit seems strict. We pray that You would open the right doors, whether through this aid, through other provision, or through unexpected help, and that You would give this parent peace that surpasses understanding while waiting. Help this family to continue to be good stewards of what You have provided, to walk in diligence and trust, and to keep their eyes on You as their ultimate source. We thank You that You hear our prayers when we ask in Jesus name, John 14:13-14, and we trust Your perfect will and timing. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to walk in faith and diligence, to provide the college with clear and honest documentation showing that the severance was nonrecurring, and to humbly and respectfully appeal the decision as you have. Continue to seek the Lord daily, to pray with your daughter about this, and to trust that whether the answer is a raised limit, a reconsideration, or another form of provision, God will make a way for what He wants for her future. He is faithful and He will guide your steps.

We hear how much weight you are carrying right now, wanting to provide for your daughter's education after a job loss and facing that gap of just a few thousand dollars over the aid limit. It is understandable to feel stretched and anxious when a one time severance payment makes your income look higher than what you are actually living on.

We are joining you in prayer that the college will clearly understand your situation and review it with care.

One practical step that often helps in this kind of case is to ask the financial aid office directly about a special circumstances or professional judgment review. Many schools have a formal appeal process where you can explain that severance pay was a one time payment and provide documentation of your current income, the job loss, and any supporting letter. A brief, clear appeal with those papers and a calm follow up call to a counselor in the office can make sure your request is seen by the right person.

This waiting period is hard, and we are praying for steadiness for you and your daughter as you walk through it.

Father, we lift this family to You. You see their needs and their desire to do what is right for their daughter. We ask for wisdom as they communicate with the college, for favor and clarity in the review process, and for Your provision and peace in the months ahead. Guide their steps and guard their hearts as they trust You. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer has been heard and we have brought it before the throne of grace with you, pleading the name of Jesus which is our only plea before the Father.

We understand the weight that rests upon a parent's heart when provision for a child seems straitened, and when a sum that looks small upon a ledger feels great indeed to those who must find it. The Lord knows your frame and your need, and He who clothes the lilies and feeds the sparrows has not forgotten you nor your daughter.

We join you in praying that the Lord in His providence would move upon those who steward the college's aid, that they would look with understanding upon your severance pay as that which it is, not as abundance but as a temporary provision in a season of transition, and that if it be His will they may grant the full aid once more. We ask also that the Lord would give favour in the matter of the income limit, where you stand but a little beyond it, and that He would open a door which no man can shut, whether by reconsideration of that limit or by some other channel of His own providing.

Yet we pray above all that you may see the hand of your heavenly Father in whatever answer He sends, for our God is Jehovah Jireh, the Lord will provide. He has promised that He will supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus, and that if we seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, all these things shall be added unto us.

Let us pray together. O gracious Father, Thou knowest the care which Thy servant bears for her child. Thou seest the severance, the limit, the narrow margin, and the anxious thought for the year to come. In the name of Jesus Christ Thy Son, our only Saviour, we ask for Thy mercy and Thy provision. Grant wisdom to those who decide these matters, grant peace to this trusting heart, and grant that which is best according to Thy perfect will. Keep this family from distrust and lead them to cast all their care upon Thee, for Thou carest for them. Give daily bread, give contentment with godliness which is great gain, and give faith to rest in Thy goodness whether the answer be as desired or otherwise ordered in Thy wisdom. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus, Amen.

Be encouraged to continue in prayer and to walk in faithful stewardship, knowing that the Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon Him, and that He will withhold no good thing from them that walk uprightly.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer for your daughter and for this financial need has been heard, and I join you in bringing it before the Lord in the name of Jesus Christ.

I understand the weight of this burden. To be slightly over a limit and yet still unable to carry an extra cost of that size is a real hardship, and it is right to bring such cares to our Father who knows our needs.

Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, I lift up this parent and this daughter to You. You know the loss of income through severance pay and the concern over how it will be counted. I ask that You grant wisdom and favor with those who review the aid application, that they would understand this as a special circumstance and show compassion. I ask that You provide for this family according to Your mercy and Your riches, and that You would open the way for this daughter to continue her education without a burden the family cannot bear. Above all, let Your will be done, and give this family peace as they trust in Your provision. Grant them wisdom in stewardship and confidence that You care for Your children. In Jesus name, amen.

Continue to trust the Lord who promises to supply what we need and who calls us to seek first His kingdom. He sees your faithfulness and your love for your daughter. Cast your anxiety on Him, remain diligent in what He has placed before you, and give thanks in all circumstances as you wait on His answer. May the Lord give you peace, guide the decision makers, and provide for you in the way that is best.

Thank you for sharing this burden so honestly. I have prayed for you and for your daughter, and I understand the weight you are carrying as you try to provide for her education while navigating a severance that makes your income look higher than what you actually have to live on.

Financial pressure is real, and Scripture does not treat it lightly. We see the believers in Jerusalem going through deep financial distress, and we see how God moved on the hearts of others to help meet that need. God cares about these practical struggles, and He invites us to bring them to Him.

One thing that encourages me is how God often leaves room to work beyond what looks fixed to us. In the law there was a provision for the cleansing of a leper, even though leprosy was considered incurable. God made a way for cleansing to be recognized if He chose to heal. In other words, He did not box Himself in. He left room for His own mercy and power to operate. College aid formulas and income limits can feel just as fixed and immovable, but God is able to work in ways we cannot predict, including in the hearts and decisions of those who review your appeal. It is right to ask Him to do so and to trust Him with the outcome.

Scripture also teaches us to put the Lord first with what He has entrusted to us, to bring Him the first fruits of our increase. The prophet Haggai warned the people that they were earning wages but never having enough because they had not put God first. That is not a formula for getting what we want, but it is a reminder that our security is not finally in an aid package or an income threshold, but in the Lord Himself. As you seek Him first, continue to be faithful, honest, and prayerful in your stewardship, trusting Him to provide as He sees best.

Above all, we thank God that He has made one true provision for our greatest need, the forgiveness of our sins through His Son Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit bears witness to that truth, that through faith in Jesus we have peace with God. When that foundation is secure, we can face financial uncertainty with a different kind of hope, knowing our Father knows our needs.

I am praying that the Lord will give favor as your special circumstance is reviewed, that those who make the decision will understand the nature of the severance pay and show compassion, and that if it is His will, the aid will be granted and the cost will be made manageable for your family. I am also praying that He will provide for you in other ways if the answer looks different than you hope, that He will give you and your daughter wisdom and peace, and that He will show Himself faithful day by day.

May the Lord give you rest as you cast this care on Him, and may He guide your daughter's steps as she continues her studies. We ask this in the name of Jesus, who is our provision and our hope.
