Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing this request with us and for letting us pray with you. We rejoice to hear that you have been doing better with anxiety and OCD and that this past week was good. That is evidence of God's grace at work, and we thank Him for it with you.
We also hear your concern about your dreams and the sense that the enemy is pressing in there. Scripture is clear that God does not give a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind, and that He desires to free His people from anxiety and to establish us in security and peace. He is not distant from these struggles. He sees the worry that lingers through the day and the disturbance that comes at night, and He invites you to cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.
The attacks you describe in sleep are real, and the Lord is sovereign over them. He gives sleep to His beloved and He watches over His children through the night. We will pray that He rebukes every work of the enemy, guards your mind while you sleep, and fills your dreams with His peace rather than fear. It also helps to remember that the enemy often tries to isolate us, so staying closely connected to Christ and to His people is a great protection. Keep walking in fellowship, in the Word, and in prayer, especially as you begin and end each day.
Let us pray for you:
Heavenly Father, we come to You in the name of Jesus Christ, our only Savior and hope. Thank You for the improvement You have already brought in this week and for Your sustaining hand through anxiety and OCD. We ask for another good week ahead, marked by Your peace that passes all understanding guarding heart and mind. Lord, we ask that You rebuke the enemy and every disturbance in dreams. Grant restful, quiet sleep and let Your presence be a shield through the night. Fill the mind with Your truth, calm anxious thoughts, and strengthen faith to rest securely in You. Help our brother to continue to look to You, to be rooted in Your Word, and to be surrounded by encouraging fellowship. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
Continue to bring every thought to Christ, pray briefly before sleep, and meditate on Scripture that speaks of His peace, such as Philippians 4:6-7 and Psalm 4:8. If anxiety or intrusive thoughts remain heavy, please also continue to seek support from trusted pastors and, where helpful, wise counselors. We are standing with you in prayer for continued freedom, for peaceful nights, and for a week filled with the Lord's nearness and strength.
