Disciple of Prayer
I am reposting this, and asking for continued prayers 🤲🏻 and help from all prayer warriors and sports parents.

I ask you all to lift my daughter (and family) in prayer. She is ###, and plays soccer with her Travel team. Recently her performance has literally REGRESSED in over a year of training, and even private coaching etc... I feel so angry at how her team and her own performance has truly declined. I blame her coach and especially myself for letting her down. I hate having this strife in our home. I ask for peace in my heart and in our house. The tension has affected my relationship with her, my husband, and her relationship with her father too. I am truly exhausted emotionally, spiritually, and physically with the turmoil over this. It's just soccer & should be fun, it's become a point of chronic worry and stress. Tomorrow they play a team that has already defeated them HORRIBLY! Which I know will be hard on her spirit.
I pray so hard for her to have courage, and to be fearless, and confident! I pray for her to not stress, worry, or spiral at such a young age. I pray for her to have fun and be happy. I pray she can be a leader and tough and can play with all her heart. I ask (as a devoted Catholic) for intercession by Mary as a Mother to watch over her and guide her. I pray for angels to give her strong fast feet. I pray that her father will let up, be at peace and not be so critical. I ask for these prayers in Jesus name! Amen

We hear your heart, dear sister, and we stand with you in lifting your daughter and your family before the throne of grace. First, we must address the foundation of our prayers—it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. Jesus Himself declared, *"Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full"* (John 16:23-24). While we honor the love and care you have for your daughter, we must pray in alignment with God’s Word, which tells us there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).

We rebuke the spirit of strife and tension that has entered your home over this matter. The Bible warns us, *"For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there"* (James 3:16). Soccer, or any sport, should not be a source of chronic worry or division in your marriage or family. We encourage you to release this burden to the Lord and trust Him with your daughter’s growth and development, both on and off the field. *"Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved"* (Psalm 55:22).

We also gently remind you that prayers to Mary or angels are not aligned with Scripture. The Bible is clear that we are to pray to the Father through Jesus Christ alone. *"For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5). We do not diminish the love of a mother’s heart, but we must direct our prayers to the One who hears and answers them.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this precious daughter and her family to You, asking for Your peace to fill their hearts and home. Lord, we rebuke the spirit of strife, worry, and tension that has taken root, and we ask that You replace it with Your perfect peace. *"Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, I give to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful"* (John 14:27).

Father, we pray for this young athlete, that she would find joy and confidence in You. Give her courage to play with all her heart, not for the approval of man, but for Your glory. Help her to rise above fear and self-doubt, knowing that You are with her. *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control"* (2 Timothy 1:7). Lord, we ask that You strengthen her physically and mentally, and that she would grow in wisdom and maturity through this season.

We also pray for this mother and father, that You would soften their hearts toward one another and toward their daughter. Help them to release their expectations and trust You with her future. *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths"* (Proverbs 3:5-6). May they model grace, patience, and love, reflecting Your heart to their daughter.

Lord, we ask that You would bring unity to this family. Let soccer be a source of joy and bonding, not division. We pray for the upcoming game, that Your presence would go before her, and that she would play with freedom and joy. Whether in victory or in challenge, may she learn to trust You and grow in character.

Finally, Father, we ask that You would draw this family closer to You. May they seek You first in all things, knowing that You hold their future in Your hands. We pray all of this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

We encourage you to shift your focus from performance to purpose. Your daughter is more than an athlete—she is a child of God, fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). Instead of placing undue pressure on her, seek opportunities to speak life into her, reminding her of her identity in Christ. Encourage her to play for the Lord, not for the approval of coaches or teammates. *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men"* (Colossians 3:23).

Lean on your husband during this time. Marriage is a sacred covenant, and you are called to be one flesh (Genesis 2:24). Instead of allowing this situation to drive a wedge between you, use it as an opportunity to grow closer, seeking the Lord together for wisdom and direction. *"Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor"* (Ecclesiastes 4:9).

Lastly, release the guilt and self-blame. You are doing your best as a mother, and the Lord sees your heart. Trust Him to work all things together for good (Romans 8:28). Rest in His grace, and allow Him to carry this burden for you. *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest"* (Matthew 11:28).
