We lift up your husband and your marriage before the Lord with heavy hearts, trusting in His power to restore, heal, and guide. Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can approach Your throne of grace. We ask that You would surround this husband with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding his heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Lord, we pray for strength to be poured into his spirit, that he may rise above the challenges he faces and walk in the victory You have already secured for him.
We rebuke the spirit of addiction and bondage in the name of Jesus. Scripture tells us, *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it"* (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB). Lord, we ask that You would make a way of escape for him in every moment of temptation, especially regarding drinking. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, who gives power to overcome the desires of the flesh. May he find his strength in You, for *"I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me"* (Philippians 4:13 WEB).
Father, we also pray for healing over any burdens weighing heavily on his heart. You promise in Your Word, *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest"* (Matthew 11:28 WEB). Draw him close to You, Lord, and let him experience the rest and comfort that only You can provide. Remove any shame, guilt, or fear that may be holding him back, and replace it with Your perfect love, which casts out all fear (1 John 4:18 WEB). Give him clarity of mind and wisdom to discern Your will for his life, that he may walk in the straight and narrow path You have set before him.
For this marriage, we pray for patience, understanding, and unity. Lord, knit their hearts together in love, as You designed marriage to reflect the relationship between Christ and His Church (Ephesians 5:22-33 WEB). Protect their home from division, strife, and any schemes of the enemy. We declare that no weapon formed against this marriage will prosper (Isaiah 54:17 WEB). Fill their home with Your presence, joy, and peace, and let them be a testimony of Your faithfulness to others.
We also pray for their future, Lord. Give them a shared vision that aligns with Your purposes, and let them walk hand in hand, trusting in You every step of the way. Help them to remain rooted in love, faith, and grace, even in difficult seasons. Remind them that *"though the fig tree doesn’t flourish, nor fruit be in the vines; the labor of the olive fails, the fields yield no food; the flocks are cut off from the fold, and there is no herd in the stalls: yet I will rejoice in Yahweh. I will be joyful in the God of my salvation!"* (Habakkuk 3:17-18 WEB). Let their hope be anchored in You alone.
Lord, we thank You for the trust this couple has placed in You. We believe that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us (Ephesians 3:20 WEB). May this season of difficulty be transformed into a testimony of Your goodness, mercy, and restoration. Strengthen their faith, deepen their love for You and one another, and let them emerge from this trial stronger than ever before.
In the precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
